This individual will lead upstream Product Management for new product development, translating clinical, customer, market, and business needs into product strategies, product concepts, requirements, and development priorities.

We are seeking an experienced Director of Product Management to join the Endovascular Robotics (EVR) business. This individual will lead upstream Product Management for new product development, translating clinical, customer, market, and business needs into product strategies, product concepts, requirements, and development priorities.

The Director will operate at the intersection of clinical need, customer workflow, technology, and business strategy, partnering closely with R&D, engineering, Clinical Affairs, Quality & Regulatory, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to guide the development of a complex medical device from early concept through product realization.

This is a player-coach role. The Director will lead and develop a Product Management team while maintaining direct responsibility for an assigned product domain within the broader EVR system.

As a Director of Product Management you will be responsible for:

  • Lead product strategy and roadmap development for the EVR platform, translating clinical, customer, market, and business needs into differentiated product concepts and recommendations that inform portfolio priorities and investment decisions.
  • Lead upstream product management for new product development, including market research, Voice of Customer, opportunity assessment, concept generation, and product definition. When needed, initiate business development opportunities to advance the product and its accessories.
  • Support the company’s transition into commercialization and downstream marketing, while promoting business development to meet the product’s needs.
  • Define and prioritize product requirements, translating clinical and customer needs into clear requirements, features, value propositions, and recommendations for development priorities.
  • Provide Product Management leadership on cross-functional development teams, partnering with R&D, systems, electrical/mechanical engineering, software/firmware, Clinical Affairs, Quality & Regulatory, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to execute against established product strategy.
  • Serve as the hands-on Product Management lead for assigned and assigned product domain, such as hardware/electrical/firmware, working closely with engineering to guide product definition, requirements, technical trade-offs, and customer value.
  • Engage physicians, customers, and commercial stakeholders throughout development to identify and validate needs, concepts, workflows, and product solutions and incorporate those insights into product recommendations.
  • Lead and develop a Product Management team, establishing priorities and accountabilities, coaching team members, allocating resources, and strengthening upstream Product Management capabilities across EVR.

This position may suit you best if you are familiar with what is below, and would like to do develop your career with Healthineers:

  • Knowledge of the interventional neurology/neurovascular clinical environment.

  • Prior experience supporting product launches or adoption of new procedural technologies is a plus.
  • Prior experience developing marketing, go-to-market, and commercial strategies is a plus.

Required skills to have for the success of this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in Product Management, new product development, engineering, strategic marketing, or related functions, with significant medical device experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading upstream Product Management and new product development for complex medical devices.
  • Strong experience translating clinical, customer, and market needs into product concepts, requirements, roadmaps, and development recommendations.
  • Experience with complex electro-mechanical systems incorporating hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior technical, clinical, commercial, and business stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Working knowledge of the medical device development lifecycle and experience operating within a regulated product-development environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving, business acumen, and customer orientation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical and clinical topics clearly and persuasively.

  • Customer and clinically focused, grounding recommendations in a deep understanding of clinical workflows and unmet needs.
  • Technically credible, able to engage deeply with engineering while maintaining a clear distinction between Product Management's responsibility for the what and why and Engineering's responsibility for the how.
  • An influential cross-functional leader, able to drive alignment and decisions across functions without relying solely on organizational authority.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, bringing structure, recommendations, and forward momentum to complex product-development decisions.
  • A strong people leader, capable of developing Product Management talent while maintaining direct contribution to the portfolio.
