ABOUT THIS ROLE
As Director, Procurement at Apex, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement process to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality in the acquisition of goods and services essential to our operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead a team of procurement professionals and collaborate closely with various departments to align procurement strategies with the company's goals.
Duties/Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives and financial goals.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate contracts, and establish supplier relationships to drive value and maximize ROI.


Supplier Management:

  • Lead supplier selection, evaluation, and performance management processes to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost standards.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with key suppliers, leveraging economies of scale and innovation to enhance competitive advantage.


Process Optimization:

  • Streamline procurement processes, workflows, and systems to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize costs.
  • Implement best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technology solutions to enhance procurement effectiveness.


Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply chain disruptions, compliance issues, and vendor dependencies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies throughout the procurement lifecycle.


Budget Oversight:

  • Develop and manage procurement budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics to track spending, variance analysis, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to optimize procurement-related financial processes and reporting.


Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments, including finance, operations, legal, and IT, to understand procurement needs and priorities.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, presenting procurement strategies, performance metrics, and recommendations to support decision-making.


Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field, or comparable professional experience; MBA or advanced certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in procurement leadership roles within the financial services industry, with a track record of driving strategic initiatives and achieving measurable results.
  • Experience selecting and implementing a Purchase-to-Pay (P2P)


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to support strategic objectives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with procurement technology platforms, ERP systems, and data analytics tools for process optimization and performance measurement.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and supplier management practices.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including team management, coaching, and development, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
