Position Summary:


CLS Health is seeking an experienced Director of Procurement & Supply Chain to lead and develop our centralized procurement function across a growing, physician-led healthcare organization. This strategic leadership role is responsible for driving sourcing initiatives, vendor management, contract negotiations, purchasing operations, and supply chain standardization to support high-quality patient care while maximizing operational and financial performance.

The Director of Procurement will partner with clinical, operational, and executive leaders to implement consistent purchasing processes, optimize vendor relationships, reduce costs, and ensure procurement activities align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead the organization's centralized procurement strategy across all CLS Health locations. 
  • Oversee vendor sourcing, selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management. 
  • Develop and maintain standardized purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices. 
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality, service, and compliance standards. 
  • Collaborate with operational and clinical leaders to standardize products, supplies, and purchasing practices. 
  • Coordinate inventory management initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste. 
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable healthcare regulations and organizational policies. 
  • Present major purchasing recommendations and long-term contractual commitments for multidisciplinary and executive review. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors while negotiating favorable pricing, terms, and service agreements. 
  • Monitor procurement metrics and prepare reports on spending, supplier performance, and cost-reduction initiatives. 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Travel to other CLS Health Locations
  • Performs related duties as required.

Requirements


  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive procurement, supply chain, or strategic sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 
  • Experience within a large medical group, hospital, health system, ambulatory network, pharmacy, laboratory, or other healthcare organization strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience purchasing medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic equipment, information technology, facilities services, and professional services. 
  • Experience working with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), healthcare distributors, and strategic vendor partnerships. 
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare contracting, vendor compliance, regulatory requirements, product recalls, and procurement best practices. 
  • Experience supporting procurement operations for a growing, multi-site healthcare organization. 
  • Proficiency with ERP, purchasing, inventory management, and contract management systems. 
  • Advanced analytical, financial, and negotiation skills.

Skills Required
