The Commercial Infrastructure PM will serve as a key member of the Commercial PMO, supporting the planning, execution, and governance of critical commercial infrastructure initiatives. This role will focus on program management while needing to understand and strategically pressure test how project level requirements will affect the Commercial infrastructure ecosystem. This implies the candidate will need to have knowledge of Commercial data & applications such as CRM, Data Architecture & Marketing Tech Stack to support workstream tracking related to new initiatives and existing larger programs. This role will be responsible for establishing overarching PMO deployment strategy to support Commercial Infrastructure projects in partnership with IT PMO Leadership.  

The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities with expertise shaping the grey to form an aligned path forward. Via stakeholders in IT, Data Analytics and Insights, Commercial Operations, Finance and Procurement. 

Alkermes has recently adopted a hybrid working environment to support and meet the needs of employees and this role will operate in a flexible environment with 60% of time in the office and 40% from home. This position is eligible for the hybrid workplace model, requiring work to be completed onsite at our Waltham, MA office at least 3 days per week. This role is not eligible for fully remote work.

Responsibilities

Commercial Program Management & Governance 

  • Provide comprehensive project management support across Commercial infrastructure-related workstreams and projects, including establishing and maintaining project plans, RAID logs, dependency tracking, milestone schedules, budget and governance reporting. 
  • Drive accountability across cross-functional teams by coordinating proactive and ongoing alignment on project strategy and operations including driving shared goals, clear timelines/deliverables, and routine transparent discussion of issues and risks in a manner which delivers long-term solutions . 
  • Prepare executive-level status updates, steering committee materials, and leadership dashboards. 
  • Manage day-to-day infrastructure operations via existing end-to-end conversations while chartering and stabilizing new initiatives. 

 

Marketing Tech Stack Infrastructure Support 

  • Partner with Omnichannel leadership to track execution of key platform initiatives. 
  • Develop reporting and dashboard solutions that support visibility into marketing tech stack priorities and implementation activities. 

 

Commercial Integration & Infrastructure Planning 

  • Support commercial integration efforts associated with business acquisitions and organizational transformation initiatives. 
  • Help evaluate and document commercial infrastructure needs, systems, processes, governance models, and future-state operating requirements. 
  • Facilitate working sessions and help develop integration plans, roadmaps, and implementation timelines. 

 

Project Portfolio Management Platform To Support Administration & Dashboard Maintenance 

  • Design and maintain PMO solutions to support commercial infrastructure workstreams. 
  • Develop executive dashboards and KPI reporting to provide visibility into project progress, risks, milestones, and resource needs. 
  • Standardize Commercial infrastructure reporting methodologies and governance processes across multiple initiatives. 
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10-12 years’ experience working for a pharmaceutical/biotech company in Commercial, PMO, or experience working for a consulting firm focused on pharmaceutical/biotech markets  
  • BS in a Marketing, Project Management, Business or related field 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong project leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority 
  • Actively seeks feedback and possesses a growth mindset; is open to learning from new perspectives 
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities 
  • Expert knowledge of project management best practices and tools (MS Excel; MS PowerPoint and/or knowledge of PM systems such as Smartsheet/Planview is preferred) 

 

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $185,000 to $212,000. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual performance pay bonus.  Exact compensation may vary based on skills, training, knowledge, and experience. Skills Required
