Primary Purpose
The Director of PMO Governance & Operations is accountable for establishing, leading and continuously evolving ADUSA's enterprise portfolio governance and portfolio management capability. This role owns the strategic operating model, governance framework, portfolio management processes, portfolio management office (PMO) standards, methodologies, tooling strategy, and operating rhythms that enable effective prioritization, investment decision-marking, planning, execution, and value realization across ADUSA's strategic business initiatives and transformation portfolio.
Working in close partnership with Executive Leadership, Finance, Technology, Strategy and other key business functions, this role serves as the steward of ADUSA's enterprise portfolio governance and transformation management capabilities and drives continuous maturity of enterprise portfolio management practices.
The Director leads the development and maturation of ADUSA's Portfolio Management Office and Community of Practice, establishing enterprise-wide standards, capabilities, and ways of working that improve organizational effectiveness and delivery performance. Through governance leadership, executive reporting, portfolio insights, and strategic advisory support, this role directly influences enterprise investment decisions and contributes to successful execution of ADUSA's most critical business and transformation priorities.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, and Scarborough, ME.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish, lead and continuously evolve ADUSA's enterprise business portfolio governance operating model, including governance forums, decision rights, portfolio standards, operating mechanisms, and executive performance management processes that enable effective strategy execution enterprise strategy.
  • Lead enterprise business portfolio planning prioritization, closely interfacing with investment governance and strategic resource allocation processes, ensuring organizational investments are aligned to enterprise strategy, value realization objectives and execution capacity.
  • Own the enterprise cross-functional intake, chartering, prioritization, and stage-gate governance framework utilized across strategic initiatives and transformation programs.
  • Own enterprise portfolio performance management and executive decision-support capabilities, providing strategic insights, risk analysis, portfolio health assessments, and recommendations utilized by the U.S. Leadership Team and Global leadership stakeholders.
  • Own the enterprise framework for cross-functional dependency, sequencing, and portfolio risk management across the strategic portfolio and interface with portfolios in Technology, Finance, and other key business functions.
  • Establish enterprise business portfolio capacity, interdependencies, demand, and resource visibility processes that support leadership investment, prioritization, and execution decisions.
  • Own business portfolio management tooling strategy, portfolio data governance, reporting standards, and partner on portfolio management technology roadmaps to ensure consistency, transparency, and scalability.
  • Establish and continuously evolve portfolio management methodologies, governance standards, operating procedures, and enterprise ways of working across business and technology portfolios.
  • Establish and lead the cross functional PMO / TMO Community of Practice, defining enterprise standards, methodologies, tools, governance requirements, and drive enterprise portfolio management capability development, adoption, that improve organizational delivery maturity.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team while driving alignment, accountability, and delivery effectiveness across a broad network of PMO, program, project, finance, strategy and technology leaders operating within a highly matrixed enterprise environment.
  • Ensure successful execution of special projects to support requests from the Office of the CEO.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project portfolio management, PMO/TMO leadership, strategy execution, business transformation, management consulting, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, developing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success designing, implementing, and scaling enterprise portfolio governance, PMO, transformation management, or strategic execution capabilities within large and complex organizations.
  • Experience influencing and aligning senior executives across Business, Technology, Finance, and Strategy and Operations functions on prioritization, resource allocation, investment decisions and strategic execution objectives.
  • Proven experience establishing or leading an enterprise PMO, TMO, Portfolio Management Office, Center of Excellence, or comparable governance function responsible for enterprise prioritization, portfolio oversight, and strategic execution effectiveness.
  • Experience developing executive reporting, dashboards, portfolio insights, and leadership communications.
  • Experience implementing and governing portfolio management methodologies, standards, and operating models in a complex environment.
  • Experience with portfolio management, project management, reporting, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Planview, Clarity, Jira, Azure DevOps, Power BI, Microsoft 365).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across organizations without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, communication, and executive presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, Operations Management, or related field.
  • PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PMI-ACP, Lean Six Sigma, Prosci, SAFe, or similar professional certification.
  • Experience standing up or transforming a PMO, Transformation Management Office, or enterprise portfolio function.
  • Experience supporting large-scale strategic transformation programs, ERP implementations, or enterprise modernization initiatives.
  • Experience developing portfolio prioritization, intake, capacity planning, or strategic planning frameworks.
  • Experience with portfolio data governance, reporting automation, and AI-enabled portfolio management capabilities.
  • Experience operating within a complex matrixed organization and supporting executive leadership teams.

ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $139,120 - $208,680
IL/MA/MD/NY Salary Range: $160,000 - $240,000
Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final compensation decisions will be made in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
