Vizrt is undergoing an exciting transformation from on-premises systems to modern cloud and SaaS solutions, and we’re looking for a visionary Director of Platform to lead this evolution. This role is perfect for a technical leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, systems reliability, and hands-on engineering excellence.
You will be responsible for building and leading a world-class platform organization focused on delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll design and implement critical platform services—including CI/CD, observability, developer experience, IAM, and more—that empower our product teams to ship quickly and confidently.
This is a high-impact role for a hands-on leader passionate about cloud-native infrastructure, automation, and enabling engineering excellence across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead & Inspire: Drive technical vision and execution while mentoring and growing a high-performing DevOps/Platform team.
- Architect Scalable Systems: Design and maintain cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS) that is secure, resilient, and scalable.
- Automate Everything: Champion infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD best practices, and platform automation to streamline developer workflows.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Establish best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting. Own uptime, incident response, and performance.
- Enhance Security & Compliance: Collaborate with the Security team to proactively address vulnerabilities and enforce industry standards.
- Optimize Costs: Ensure efficient use of cloud resources through cost-aware architecture and governance.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with engineering, product, sales, and support to align platform capabilities with customer needs and business goals
- 10+ years in a senior engineering or technical leadership role (SRE, DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure).
- Deep experience with AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, networking, IAM, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (CDK, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
- Strong programming/scripting in Python, Typescript/JavaScript, Bash or similar.
- Proven success scaling platform operations in a cloud/SaaS environment.
- Excellent communicator with a people-first leadership style.
- Experience overseeing complex projects and driving platform roadmaps.
