Job Description:
The Director, People Leader, serves as the senior HR leader for Barry-Wehmiller’s Hygiene Business, providing people and culture leadership across manufacturing sites, engineering centers, and commercial teams in the Americas & EMEA.
This leader partners directly with the Segment President and senior leadership team to shape and deliver a people strategy that fuels business growth, strengthens organizational capability, and advances Barry-Wehmiller’s cultural commitment to Truly Human Leadership.
The role requires both strategic acumen and operational execution — guiding long-term people initiatives while ensuring day-to-day practices in talent, culture, and organizational design are delivered with excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic People Leadership
Serve as the primary people leader and advisor for Hygiene globally, partnering closely with the Segment President and leadership team.
Design and execute the People strategy to align with business priorities, ensuring organizational effectiveness and resilience.
Represent the perspective of the business within the BW Converting Platform and across the broader BW enterprise.
Talent Development & Succession
Lead global talent processes including workforce planning, talent review, succession planning, and leadership development.
Build career paths and leadership pipelines that prepare talent for both current and future needs.
Ensure performance management processes foster accountability, feedback, and growth.
Culture & Engagement
Champion Barry-Wehmiller’s Truly Human Leadership culture worldwide, ensuring teams feel cared for and engaged while delivering results.
Actively monitor organizational health and engagement, deploying cultural initiatives and holding leaders accountable for culture in action.
Change & Transformation
Lead change management efforts during growth, restructuring, or integration, ensuring alignment with BW playbooks and best practices.
Provide coaching and guidance to senior leaders to navigate organizational dynamics and drive continuous improvement.
Compensation, Compliance & Systems
Partner with BW Compensation leaders to ensure competitive, equitable, and consistent pay practices globally.
Ensure compliance with international, national, and local labor regulations across all operating regions.
Leverage people systems and data analytics to provide insights that guide decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field;
7-10 years of progressive HR/people leadership experience, including global scope and multi-country exposure.
Strong background in organizational design, talent management, and leadership development within manufacturing or industrial settings.
Experience in M&A, integration, or large-scale organizational transformation.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, build alignment, and lead across cultural and geographic boundaries.
Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and change leadership skills.
Multi-faceted business experience beyond HR is a plus.
Location & Travel
Based in the U.S. or Italy (preferred: Wisconsin USA or Lucca Italy)
20-30% international and domestic travel to connect with leaders, teams, and sites globally.
