Job Description – Director, Payment Strategy & Optimization

Reports to: Head of Product and Payment Strategy
Works closely with: CEO, Head of Product, Head of Marketing, Head of Revenue, and Client Success.

Role Purpose

This senior leadership role integrates Product Strategy, Payment Optimization, Go-To-Market execution, and Client Advisory into one cohesive function. You will define and deliver the vision for the next generation of payment strategies - maximizing ROI for our clients, driving market adoption, and ensuring CellPoint Digital maintains its competitive advantage.

Leveraging deep airline and travel industry expertise, C‑level relationship skills, and a proven track record in complex commercial negotiations, you will bridge product innovation, market strategy, and client value delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Payment Optimization - ROI models and new business model development

  • Develop new optimization ROI line-item definitions, including long-term, unidentified, and newly identified opportunities.
  • Lead the lifecycle from opportunity identification, investigation, ROI modeling, validation, and updates.
  • Develop supporting product definition materials, integrate into capabilities matrix, and deliver training to Product, Marketing, Sales, Account Management, and Finance.
  • Partner with Sales and Client Services for 100% coverage of ROI analysis opportunities, full business case development, and implementation planning.

Market Form of Payment (FOP) Analysis

  • Lead 100% coverage of market FOP analysis opportunities, reviewing airline route maps, booking flows, and existing FOP coverage.
  • Document preferred FOPs by market, identify coverage gaps, and support project plans for prioritized FOP expansion in alignment with POP implementation plans.

Go-To-Market Strategy (GTMS)

  • Drive new platform rollout strategy including development of sales deliverables, conference content, use cases, and web content.
  • Align GTM initiatives with marketing campaigns, partnership strategies, and sales pipeline priorities.
  • Provide product demonstration support for sales engagements.

Payment & Product Strategy

  • Define long-term payment strategies beyond POP, anticipating industry trends and client needs.
  • Map client payment ecosystems end-to-end to identify optimization, revenue generation, and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Translate strategies into product roadmap priorities with measurable business outcomes.
  • Serve as a thought leader, representing CellPoint Digital in industry forums, customer advisory boards, and partner engagements.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven airline and travel industry expertise with a network of senior decision-makers and history of driving high-value commercial engagements.
  • Complex commercial negotiation skills - structuring creative, win–win agreements.
  • Customer success and account leadership - experience building account management frameworks and leading global teams.
  • Strategic product and payment ecosystem knowledge.
  • Data-driven decision-making with ability to build and validate ROI models.
    Strong communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills.

KPIs & Success Measures

Payment Optimization Metrics:

  • New merchant ROI analyses completed, forecasted, validated, and documented in marketing report cards.
  • ROI opportunities realized, validated via QBR, and benefits documented.
  • New optimization ROI line items identified, modeled, and integrated into product materials.

Market FOP Analysis Metrics:

  • Market FOP analyses completed with expansion recommendations validated in review sessions.
  • FOP provider recommendations from Partnerships integrated into client recommendations.

Go-To-Market Metrics:

  • Delivery of all GTM sales and marketing assets on schedule.
  • Successful execution of platform rollout phases with measurable adoption and engagement outcomes.
