This position is located in Commerce City, Colorado with a Monday through Friday. 

Position Overview: 

The Director of Operations develops and executes operational strategies that align with company objectives, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and establishes performance metrics to measure and enhance organizational effectiveness. This leader is accountable for optimizing processes, improving productivity, managing resources, and building a high-performing team capable of supporting current operations and future growth. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Oversee all operations and plant performance for the Denver facility, providing leadership across manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, planning, and overall operational execution.
  2. Drive operational discipline and accountability across all departments, ensuring production schedules and customer demand requirements are achieved safely, efficiently, and cost effectively.
  3. Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, inventory management, and cost reduction.
  4. Monitor and analyze KPIs including OEE, OTIF, labor efficiency, scrap, inventory accuracy, downtime, and throughput, reporting on those metrics.
  5. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives related to operational performance.
  6. Lead implementation and sustainability of Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives.
  7. Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure product quality, audit readiness, and compliance standards are maintained.
  8. Ensure compliance with all applicable FDA, EPA, OSHA, DOT, GMP, ISO, and environmental regulations.
  9. Lead annual budgeting and operational planning processes, managing and reporting on labor, overhead, inventory, and operational spending within approved budgets. 
  10. Drive new product introductions, manufacturing transfers, and operational scalability initiatives; assisting with capital expenditure planning, implementation and project execution.
  11. Oversee facility maintenance, equipment reliability, and capital improvement projects.
  12.  Ensure facility infrastructure supports operational and growth requirements.
  13. Drive inventory control improvements, cycle counting accuracy, and material management initiatives.
  14. Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and R&D teams to support business objectives.
  15. Work closely with Human Resources on job description development and recruitment, safety training, workforce development initiatives, employee relations issues, succession planning and compensation.
  16. Promote a strong safety culture and maintain compliance with all company safety programs and policies.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The job requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • Bachelors’ degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Operations Management
  • 10+ years in senior leadership role in logistics, distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of implementing manufacturing efficiency programs ie: lean manufacturing process- 6 sigma or the like
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software (SAP, ERP, CRM)
  • Functional ERP system knowledge, such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite etc
  • Experience utilizing data to establish budgets and analyze and control spending
  • Demonstrated process optimization ability to streamline and implement new processes and procedures creating speed and efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands
  • Working knowledge of industry regulations.ie: FDA, EPA, DOT, OSHA
  • Experience developing and enhancing MRP systems within an ERP system
  • Occasional air travel required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Chemical manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of ERP > Chempax
  • Prior experience with GMP manufacturing or ISO quality systems
  • Cross functional collaboration with supply chain, planning and procurement teams
  • Bilingual Spanish 
  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Frequently stands, walks, stoops, crouches,      climbs, pushes and pulls
  • Continuous keyboard use and      repetitive hand motion
  • Ability to lift 70lbs

Skills Required
