Our job is to find that threat first and help fix it before it becomes a breach. Right now, that threat is identity exposure. Attackers aren't only breaking through firewalls anymore. They're logging in with stolen employee credentials, customer accounts, and system access, and AI is making them faster. Flare monitors the dark and clear web to find exposed identities and other high-risk external threats before cybercriminals can use them. As the threat that matters shifts, we'll move with it.

We’re on a mission to find a Director of Operations who will expand Flare’s infrastructure to support growth objectives as we continue to scale. Working cross functionally, you’ll design and execute strategic initiatives that enable Flare to scale while enforcing our unique culture. Partnering alongside our COO, Drew, you’ll build a shared services function and act as an internal trusted consultant. Your efforts will produce coordinated, automated and agentic solutions that allow Flarians to optimize time spent with customers.

This is a high impact role with a global scope and as such, will require a degree of work outside of normal business hours to support global teams.

Your purpose and impact

Your mission, should you choose to accept it will be to:

• Centralize measurement and management of operational performance: 
  • Work with all department leads to establish baseline measures.
  • Create a shared dashboard to monitor performance.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements within and between processes across Flare.
• Build a shared services function to incorporate best practices and scale to capabilities used by all departments, such as reporting, platform analytics, project tracking, change management and procurement.
• Serve as a trusted consultant across departments by identifying changing needs and gaps that can be addressed by your shared services function.
• Facilitate annual forecasting and budgeting process in coordination with the Finance team.
• Build a team of shared, contract, and full-time members to execute operations initiatives.

You’ll be a perfect fit if you have:

• 10+ years of experience in operations consulting or management roles. 
  • Must include experience within SaaS organizations. 
  • Prior experience within cybersecurity organizations is preferred.
  • Prior experience with start up / scale up organizations is preferred.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal, across multiple audience levels from individual contributor to executive.
• Demonstrated proficiency in cross-functional project management.
• Experience with integrating systems and with developing automated and agentic solutions to drive efficiency and coordination.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively and drive issues to resolution.
• Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.

Expected outcomes

Within 30 days

• Become deeply familiar with Flare’s platform, datasets, and customer use cases. 
• Review existing process and policy documentation across departments.
• Start developing trusted relationships cross-functionally.
• Work with the shared services team on priority initiatives and planning.
• Establish operating standards and routines coordination across the team.

Within 60 days

• Assist leaders from each department in the annual budgeting process. 
• Analyze operating performance metrics and ongoing projects, recommend prioritization, and develop execution plans.
• Standardize Flare’s approach to project execution and work with leaders to adapt and adopt this approach.

Within 90 days

• Lead the coordination and delivery of projects.
• Facilitate daily operating tasks including requests from other departments. 
• Own production of recurring internal and external reports.
• Create a toolset to streamline evaluation of future strategic opportunities.
