The Director, Operational Resilience will lead efforts to design, assess, prepare for, educate and respond to continuity and resiliency events and needs for the business, enterprise, and external parties. This will include managing certain lines of business, but also nontraditional situations created by unique geopolitical or other conditions. The role will develop and deploy tools and training suitable for a global audience, incorporating geographic or cultural nuances as required.
- Leads design and deployment of resiliency framework, tools, and training to include providing hands on assistance during a crisis response to dedicated RGA operations.
- Leads resiliency discipline regionally or globally including providing tools and training to diverse stakeholders and participating in forecasting efforts as required.
- Conducts second-line risk assessments on the effectiveness of resiliency capabilities, as well as business alignment to defined resiliency requirements set forth by the Global Operational Resilience Office.
- Supports senior business leaders in aligning available resources to priorities before, during, and after a crisis response.
- Lead resiliency response efforts for assigned business segments or functions.
- Assists with assessing non-regulatory aspects of assessing and responding to geopolitical risk conditions. Maintains situational awareness of geopolitical landscape that could develop into an enterprise resilience event for RGA.
- Provides support to VP, Global Operational Resilience and assists with special projects.
- Advises people managers in the department and across the broader organization on hiring, training, mentoring and performance management, as necessary.
- Fosters a positive and engaged work environment for colleagues and clients.
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Risk Management, or related equivalent experience
- 5+ years Business Continuity or resilience experience in an insurance, reinsurance, or global financial services company
- Insurance or reinsurance experience
Preferred:
- MBA
- 5+ years of risk management experience
- 10+ years overall Operational Resiliency or Business Continuity experience

Location: Ideally located in St. Louis, MO RGA’s Headquarters in a hybrid work arrangement, the successful candidate may also work in a full remote arrangement.

Compensation Range:
$107,060.00 - $159,390.00 AnnualBase pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
