When We All Vote seeks a Director of National Organizing who will be responsible for the management of When We All Vote’s state/regional organizers, building relationships with key volunteers, partners and supporting mobilization efforts of the organizing program, onboarding and supporting Culture of Democracy Collective partners, overseeing digital organizing communities, facilitating educational and organizing calls, and supporting the development of training programs for our volunteers and partners. This role is temporary through November 2024 with the possibility of extension.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Support the Managing Director of National Organizing on strategic planning and development of the organizing program
  • Manage and support multiple projects related to developing and implementing programming for a diverse volunteer and partner audience
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director of National Organizing to determine quarterly and annual metrics and goals to support national campaign goals
  • Manage six State and Regional Directors and ensure that state programs are meeting established goals.
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of digital communities, including social media platforms, forums, and online groups, to ensure engagement and growth. Monitor and analyze community metrics. Manage the moderation and content creation. 
  • Support the development of and manage  communications for the organizing program
  • Develop training and educational materials for the When We All Vote community around voter engagement.
  • Represent When We All Vote on volunteer, community, and large-scale calls and events
  • Manage Culture of Democracy Collective on behalf of When We All Vote, including identifying priority areas, database management, and material development. 
  • Deepen volunteers’ relationships with current and previous When We All Vote volunteers, and identify opportunities to build new volunteer relationships
  • Supervise and mentor organizing interns to ensure alignment with project goals and deadlines, providing guidance and support throughout their internship tenure. Onboarding, timesheet approval, training and performance management. 
  • Additional and reasonable duties as assigned

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years experience on an electoral, issue, or civic engagement campaign in an organizing role with experience managing volunteers and experience in digital organizing 
  • Experience with voter registration campaigns, digital and in-person voter registration, canvassing, and mobilization.
  • Familiarity with managing online communities, such as Slack and Facebook
  • Ability to work with diverse communities and individuals with varying perspectives
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. 
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of organizers and volunteers. 
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing campaign priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The Washington, DC-based salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 (will be adjusted for cost of labor for the incumbent's work location) annually, commensurate with experience. PROCESS TIMELINE

Candidates can expect the following hiring process and timeline (please note that this timeline may be subject to change):  

  • May 28 – June 7: First-Round Interviews: Introductory Call
  • June 11 - June 18  Second-Round Interviews: Leadership & Assessment 
  • June 24  - June 28: Final Interviews
  • Week of June 30: Hiring Decision announced
