As the Director, Master Data Products, you will hold a critical strategic leadership role accountable for the successful delivery of Quest's core master data assets (patient, client, test, facility, eligible) as enterprise products within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. This role is not just about data management; it is about leading major data migration programs, driving new product development, and establishing permanent, strategic ownership of foundational data assets in close collaboration with internal and external business partners. You will lead and mentor a blended, global team of employees and contractors (US and offshore) to achieve these goals and will be the single point of accountability for the quality and governance of these products, with the ultimate goal of enabling next-generation analytics, data-driven decision-making, and mission-critical AI applications across the enterprise.
This is a hybrid role and the selected candidate must be near-site to one of Quest Diagnostics hub locations. Preferred locations are Secaucus, NJ or East Norriton, PA. Pay Range: $175,000,000 - $210,000/year + 20% Annual Incentive Plan
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.
Responsibilities- Serve as the single point of accountability for the successful migration of critical legacy master data platforms (FacDB, DUES, ECPM) to Google Cloud Platform, overseeing program execution, budget, and timeline in partnership with Systems Integrator (SI) resources.
- Lead the strategy, design, and development of the new, large-scale Eligibility Data Product within GCP, a foundational asset containing member data from all of Quest’s health plan partners.
Develop and maintain a data contract for each master data product defining its expectations and governing its integration into the data fabric.
- Establish the permanent, strategic ownership and roadmap for all master data (Patient, Client, Test) within the GCP analytical environment, transitioning this critical responsibility from a temporary, project-based function to a formal, product-oriented discipline.
- Act as a primary strategic partner to internal business leaders (Commercial, Operations) and external partners (Health Plans, Providers) to translate their strategic needs into a clear data product roadmap that enables data-driven decision-making and advanced AI use cases.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a geographically distributed team of full-time employees and contractors, located both within the US and offshore, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Partner closely with the MDM platform team to ensure seamless and accurate data flow from transactional systems (e.g., EPIC) to the GCP analytical environment.
- Collaborate with data governance teams to establish and enforce data quality rules, stewardship processes, and security policies for master data.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert and trusted advisor for master data, ensuring its optimal structure and use for analytics, data science, and AI development.
- Manage the portfolio of requirements for your team and coordinate activities with other technology teams and business customers.
- Ensure master data products are modeled and structured to support high-performance analytics, reporting, and BI solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business customers and solve complex challenges related to master data.
- Ensure compliance with all data governance and security policies.
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or relevant degree). (Required). Master’s Degree preferred.
Agile or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Certifications in cloud solutions such as GCP, AWS, Snowflake, Matillion will help evidence applicant knowledge of core solutions used across Quest’s enterprise data ecosystem. (Preferred)
10+ years of data management experience, with a significant focus on Master Data Management (MDM).5+ years of technical leadership experience managing data-focused teams.
Proven experience with MDM principles, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
Experience managing critical data domains such as Patient, Client, Provider, or Test/Product.
3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (GCP preferred) or other MDM platform solutions.
Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake) or other MDM data management solutions and data integration/ELT tools
Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and modern data programming languages (e.g., Python, Scala).
Deep understanding of master data architecture, data modeling, and data lifecycle management.
Experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry.
Exposure to version control systems (Git) and Agile principles (Scrum).
