We are seeking an accomplished marketing leader and strategic thinker to serve as our Director of Marketing Strategy—a pivotal leadership role responsible for defining and executing comprehensive marketing strategy across our organization's full suite of business lines and marketing functions. As a strategic leader within the Marketing organization, you will lead the Product Marketing team, establish enterprise-wide marketing strategy, and serve as a key advisor to the Head of Marketing & Events and Director of Digital Content & Media on market dynamics, competitive positioning, brand strategy, and growth opportunities. This position demands intellectual rigor, deep financial services marketing expertise, sophisticated market insight, and the ability to orchestrate complex, cross-functional marketing initiatives. You will shape the organization's market narrative, drive strategic positioning across all lines of business (Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Corporate Banking, Treasury Services, Investment Banking, Private Banking, and Consumer/Digital Banking), and translate enterprise marketing strategy into measurable business results through integrated campaigns, content strategies, and go-to-market initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with business objectives, including market positioning, customer segmentation, brand narrative, and portfolio strategy across all lines of business
Lead the Product Marketing team to drive positioning, competitive intelligence, content strategies, and go-to-market initiatives; mentor and develop team members to strengthen marketing leadership capability
Establish strategic frameworks and marketing playbooks that ensure consistency in messaging, positioning, and execution across all channels and business units
Conduct rigorous market analysis and competitive intelligence research to identify strategic opportunities, market gaps, and emerging threats; synthesize findings into actionable strategic recommendations for executive leadership
Lead cross-functional strategic planning initiatives to align Marketing, Product, and Sales leadership on market positioning, target audiences, value propositions, and long-term market narratives
Oversee marketing portfolio strategy and resource allocation decisions; help establish strategic KPIs and performance dashboards to measure marketing impact on brand perception, customer acquisition, revenue, and market share
Collaborate with Head of Marketing & Events and the broader Marketing team (Creative, Digital, Communications, Events) to translate strategic direction into integrated marketing programs, campaigns, and customer experiences
Represent marketing strategy at executive forums and board-level discussions; provide market-based counsel to C-suite on competitive threats, customer dynamics, strategic opportunities, and organizational positioning
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with external agencies, research firms, and market intelligence providers to enhance marketing capabilities and insights
Qualifications
8+ years of B2B marketing, product strategy, or marketing leadership experience, with at least 4 years in a senior strategic leadership role
Demonstrated expertise in marketing strategy, brand strategy, competitive positioning, and portfolio management within complex, enterprise-scale financial services or B2B solutions
Proven track record leading product marketing or marketing teams; experience managing cross-functional initiatives and driving organizational alignment
Strong analytical capabilities; ability to synthesize market data, customer research, competitive intelligence, and business metrics into strategic direction
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complexity, craft compelling market narratives, and influence senior leadership
BBA in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA degree or advanced business credential preferred
Deep understanding of financial services market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape; knowledge of digital banking, treasury services, and investment services a plus
Strategic mindset combined with strong execution orientation; demonstrated ability to drive measurable business impact including revenue growth, market share gains, brand lift, or campaign ROI
