The Role & What You Will Be Doing

As Director Market Access – Innovative Products, you will play a pivotal role in launching Viatris’ innovative pipeline in Germany. This is a strategically critical responsibility, requiring deep expertise in Market Access, reimbursement, and HTA—particularly navigating AMNOG and the benefit assessment procedure at the Federal Joint Committee (G‑BA). In this role you will:

  • Lead cross-functional launch project groups for all innovative products, collaborating closely with Medical Affairs, Governmental & Public Affairs, Operational, and Commercial teams

  • Represent the German affiliate in regional and global Market Access groups and meetings

  • Develop and drive comprehensive Market Access strategies tailored to the German market, ensuring launch readiness by leading the creation of AMNOG dossiers aligned with global and local brand strategies

  • Prepare and implement robust Market Access plans to optimize reimbursement and market development

  • Shape and localize global value stories to strengthen product differentiation, prevent price erosion, and broaden access within the German healthcare system

  • Lead and execute evidence generation strategies to ensure payer and HTA requirements are embedded early and consistently throughout the product lifecycle

  • Create compelling payer value propositions and design innovative reimbursement mechanisms for diverse stakeholders in the German healthcare environment

  • Partner with key payers to co-develop integrated solutions and value modules

  • Engage regularly with key internal stakeholders, including the managing director and communications, and contribute to national and international Market Access forums

  • Support brand planning and portfolio assessments, influencing strategic decisions through Market Access insights

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Natural Sciences, Medicine, Health Economics, Public Health, Health Policy, Business Administration or Law

  • 5–7 years of professional experience in Market Access, pricing & reimbursement, HTA or related functions within the pharmaceutical industry, payers, consultancies or healthcare institutions

  • Strong hands‑on experience with AMNOG procedures and German benefit assessments

  • Proven track record in successfully securing reimbursement for new, innovative products

  • Solid background in evidence‑based medicine, public health and/or health economics

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with senior internal and external partners

  • Excellent German and English communication skills

  • Strategic mindset, entrepreneurial attitude and the ability to navigate complex environments
