Labcorp is seeking a remote Director, Lab Systems Software Development Engineering, to join our team.Work Schedule: Remote | Full-time | Travel: 25% Job Responsibilities
  • Lead execution of software development engineering strategies aligned with organizational business, product, and technology objectives.
  • Drive engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and high-quality software delivery.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and on-time delivery while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal SOPs, and development standards.
  • Collaborate with product, architecture, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to align engineering initiatives with enterprise priorities.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, governance practices, and operational frameworks to ensure software scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Monitor engineering performance, identify risks and opportunities, and drive improvements that enhance delivery efficiency and system quality.
  • Build, coach, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams while promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration across IT organizations.
  • Ensure application and system availability metrics meet established service level agreements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8 or more years of experience in software development engineering, application development, or related technical disciplines, including clinical laboratory experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience leading teams or enterprise-scale engineering initiatives.
  • 3 or more years of experience designing, developing, or overseeing complex enterprise software systems or platforms.
  • 3 or more years of experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical strategies with business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • 3 or more years of experience leading software engineering organizations supporting multiple platforms, products, or enterprise systems.
  • 3 or more years of exposure to system architecture, platform engineering, or large-scale distributed environments.
  • 3 or more years of experience establishing engineering governance frameworks, development standards, and delivery operating models.
Additional Job Standards
  • Strong understanding of clinical laboratory operational workflows and order-to-report/bill processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead software engineering strategy and execution in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Expertise in scalable system design, software development lifecycle management, and engineering governance.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate priorities, risks, and outcomes to technical and business stakeholders.

Application Window: 9/7/2026 – 9/9/2026Pay Range: 175k - 225kThe position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers. Compensation may also include discretionary short- and long-term incentive packages.All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market dataBenefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
