Primary Purpose
The IT Vendor Management Office (VMO) within the Office of the CIO is responsible for building and managing relationships with strategic suppliers and major vendors that provide products and services to ADUSA-IT. ADUSA IT's external spend is several hundred million dollars across a complex partner ecosystem. The Director of VMO will be accountable for leading all aspects of Vendor Management including Relationship Management, Contract Management, Performance management and Financial Management. This role reports to the VP, Office of CIO and will play an integral role in providing leadership and setting up the strategic direction and vision of the vendor management office (VMO) in alignment with the overall strategic and operational objectives of the IT function.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, Hyattsville, MD and Mauldin, SC.

Duties and Responsibilities• Develop a strategic direction for the vendor management office (VMO) in alignment with the strategic and operational objectives of the ADUSA IT organization and the broader enterprise.• Lead development and execution of strategic sourcing strategies such as contingent labor management program, champ/challenger models etc.• Develop long term sustainable relationship with suppliers with a vision to transform this relationship to a strategic relationship for key vendors.• Lead monthly and quarterly vendor governance meetings with the IT leadership team. Enable relationship health, set strategic direction, enable effective decision making and drive issue resolution within the governance structure.• Oversee the collection and calculation of all managed service provider Critical Performance Indicator (CPI) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data.• Serve as a point of escalation for vendor issues and disputes working with both the internal and vendor leadership teams to resolve any disputes. As part of any resolution, ensure that the triggering incident or issue is thoroughly documented and aligns with the contractual requirements and commitments.• Build and execute talent strategies, including competency building, acquiring talent, performance management and succession across the VMO function. Ensure that the right resources are in the right role based on their skills and competencies through development of engagement strategies, status and review structures, and performance targets and reviews.• Proactively identify savings opportunities by working with various IT peers. Manage efforts to prioritize, evaluate, plan, and execute initiative to achieve savings.• Develop or participate in the development of risk frameworks accounting for sensitivity to and tolerance for identified vendor risk types (financial, regulatory, operational, reputational, etc.).• Partner with other areas of the business (IT sourcing, finance etc.) to track and report on vendor financial viability, business continuity, and corporate and regulatory compliance.• Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our Values.
Qualifications• Master's Degree in Computer Science or Technical field and Master's Degree in Technology and/or Business-related field; Equivalent Trainings/certifications/experience equivalency will be considered.• 10 or more years of equivalent experience in relevant job or field of technology; IT vendor management and/or IT sourcing.• 8 or more years of equivalent experience in an advanced role or technical capacity, leading teams directly or indirectly.• 5 or more years' experience directly responsible for guiding, training or onboarding team members in relevant technologies, capabilities or skills.• Proven ability to build and execute enterprise-wide IT vendor strategy.• Self-starter with the ability to lead teams through ambiguity to solve problems and drive results.• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship-building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional environment.• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientated.• Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike.• Financial Acumen
o Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions.
o Understands the meaning and implications of key financial indicators.
o Uses financial analysis to generate, evaluate, and act on strategic options and opportunities.• Developing and delivering multi-mode communications (verbal and written) that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.• Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
Preferred Qualifications• Experience working in an environment with a complex vendor ecosystem including multiple large outsourcing arrangements.• Post graduate degree advanced training and or certifications in relevant field/s of study preferred.• 8 or more years' experience in leading teams or advancing technical capability in teams.• 5 or more years' experience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating model.• Experience in retail or grocery preferred.
