This is a hands-on role with strong potential for growth as the bank's technology function expands and is designed to build the technical depth and judgment needed to support the CIO and contribute to leadership continuity within the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute the bank's day-to-day security controls (patch management, access reviews, monitoring, and incident response) under the program and standards set by the CIO; escalate risks, incidents, and control gaps promptly.
  • Implement and maintain data governance, retention, and privacy controls consistent with policies established by the CIO and support the integrity and security of the bank's data assets.
  • Act as the bank's primary liaison for affiliate IT partners supporting bank-related matters, coordinating priorities, timelines, access, and documentation so that accountability between affiliate-provided support and bank-owned systems stays clear and auditable.
  • Manage the working relationship with the core banking software provider's support organization for the platform as run at the bank, including support tickets, patches, upgrades, and configuration changes.
  • Scope, onboard, and oversee short-term IT consultants engaged for discrete projects, ensuring deliverables, security requirements, least-privilege access, and knowledge transfer back to the bank's IT team.
  • Own change management documentation, approvals, and rollback/reversibility plans for IT changes, consistent with SOX and internal audit requirements.
  • Maintain and test the bank's IT disaster recovery and business continuity procedures, coordinating recovery capabilities provided by affiliate and vendor partners, including the core banking software provider.
  • Maintain current IT policies, procedures, and control evidence; support internal audit, SOX, SOC 2, and regulatory examination requests with accurate, timely documentation.
  • Plan and execute IT projects assigned by the CIO, including scope, budget tracking, vendor/consultant coordination, and status reporting.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and coverage plans in partnership with the CIO to support strong operational continuity across key IT functions.
