A Brief Overview
The Director Imaging Services provides operational leadership for Imaging services and oversees daily management functions, including staffing, policies and procedures, employee relations, supply chain management, patient safety, imaging revenue cycle operations, regulatory compliance, and patient satisfaction. This role develops quality initiatives, monitors outcomes, and establishes goals and plans that support the advancement of Imaging services. The Director oversees comprehensive business planning to support targeted inpatient and outpatient program growth, align services with administrative strategic goals, and improve patient experience and outcomes. Responsibilities also include developing and managing operational and capital budgets, supporting revenue maximization and financial performance, promoting collaboration, and maintaining a shared vision of excellence in Imaging. The Director ensures program goals and initiatives support the organization's mission while directing management and marketing functions to achieve established clinical, financial, and customer service goals.
What you will do

  • Provide operational leadership and strategic direction for Imaging services across assigned inpatient and outpatient areas.
  • Oversee daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, workflow, productivity, service quality, and resource utilization.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and standards that support safe, efficient, and compliant Imaging operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, safety, radiation protection, and quality standards.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, monitors performance outcomes, and implements action plans to improve patient safety, care delivery, and service performance.
  • Develop and manages operational and capital budgets, monitors financial performance, and supports revenue cycle accuracy and revenue optimization.
  • Collaborate with physicians, leaders, staff, and other stakeholders to support program growth, service alignment, and effective communication.
  • Promote employee engagement, professional development, accountability, performance management, and effective team communication.
  • Support business planning, service expansion, technology needs, equipment planning, and implementation of strategic initiatives for Imaging services.
  • Maintain a culture of service excellence, collaboration, compliance, and continuous improvement aligned with organizational mission and goals.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare related field Required
  • Master's Degree in Healthcare related field Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • A minimum of five (5) years progressive leadership experience in imaging services in the healthcare setting (Preferably in a multi-facility healthcare system) Required
  • A minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in the field of radiology Required
  • Experience with inpatient and outpatient service care and delivery Required
  • Experience with patient case management related protocols and outcomes management Required
  • Prior experience in planning and implementing program financial planning, budget and operations oversight Preferred
  • Experience with CMS/JC regulatory standards Preferred
  • Experience with compliance with SCDHEC Radiological standards Preferred
  • Previous Multi-provider discipline experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills including large group presentation required
  • Evidence of effective people leadership, interpersonal and consensus building skills required.
  • Strong analytical and operational problem solving/decision making skills required
  • Ability to be driven with independent work assignment management and prioritization skills required
  • Prior experience where strong self motivation, organizational and interpersonal skills were required
  • Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office Suite software
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills required.
  • Pleasant, understanding and patient attitude and the ability to remain composed under stressful circumstances required.
  • Evidence and knowledge of quality systems, lean methodology and continuous improvement project systems preferred.
  • Competent in budgeting and financial analysis required.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work in a timely and accurate manner required.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and empower staff to effectively perform their responsibilities required.
  • Demonstrated professionalism & ability to deliver on personal & organizational commitments required.
