The Opportunity:

This role operates through a solid reporting line to the Vice President, General Manager and strong dotted reporting line to Vice President, HR, Europe. The Director, HRBP is an active member of both the CNE Leadership Team and the HR Europe Leadership Team as well as Global HR team, bringing a business-led country perspective to regional HR strategy and translating regional priorities into effective local execution.

The Director, HRBP is the HR leader for CNE and a strategic business partner to the Vice President, General Manager, CNE and their Leadership Team. The role has end-to-end accountability for the country people agenda while ensuring alignment with Europe and enterprise HR priorities.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

Strategic and Operational HR & Business Partnership

  • Serve as trusted adviser to the Vice President, General Manager and Country Leadership Team, shaping and executing the country people strategy in alignment with business priorities and the Europe HR strategy.

  • Represent the countries on the HR Europe Leadership Team, bringing local insights and helping shape regional people priorities and scalable solutions.

Organization Build, Culture & Engagement

  • Lead the people and organization build-up of the countries, ensuring the right capabilities, leadership, structures and ways of working are established as the business grows and evolves.

  • Partner with the CNE Leadership Team to build high-performing teams, strengthen leadership effectiveness and foster collaboration, accountability and organizational health.

  • In partnership with the European HR leadership, act as a steward of company culture and values, translating them into meaningful local practices while maintaining connection to the broader enterprise culture.

  • Shape the employee experience and engagement agenda, using employee insights and feedback to strengthen engagement, inclusion, connection and retention.

  • Champion effective communication, change leadership and organizational integration, helping employees navigate growth and change while maintaining clarity, purpose and momentum.

Talent & Leadership

  • In alignment with enterprise philosophy and European HR leadership, lead organization design, workforce planning, talent and performance management, succession, leadership development and critical talent retention.

  • Partner with leaders and Talent Acquisition on workforce and resourcing strategies, including critical hires and internal mobility.

  • Build the leadership and organizational capabilities required to deliver current and future business priorities.

Employee Relations, Compliance & Risk

  • Provide leadership on complex employee relations matters, investigations and people-related risk, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment law, company policies and collective arrangements.

  • Lead relationships and consultation with works councils, unions and employee representative bodies, where applicable.

HR Delivery, Insights & Governance

  • Partner with regional and global HR Operations, Total Rewards and other Centers of Excellence to deliver effective, compliant HR services and annual people processes.

  • Use workforce data and analytics to identify trends, risks and opportunities and translate insights into business actions.

  • Act as the primary HR interface for the country, ensuring effective navigation of the local, regional and global HR model.

Europe & Cross-Functional / -Regional Leadership

  • Contribute to Europe-wide and global business and HR priorities, projects and operating-model improvements, balancing regional consistency with local business and legal requirements.

  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Communications and other functions to advance business priorities and proactively manage people-related risk.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or a related field.

  • Recognized HR professional certification (for example CIPD, SHRM or local equivalent).

  • 10+ years experience in the biopharmaceutical, life sciences or another highly regulated industry.

  • Strong analytical mindset with proven experience using people analytics and HR metrics to inform decisions

  • Demonstrate ability to build from scratch: setting up people processes, structures, and capabilities in a new or fast-scaling organization within the Biotech industry

  • Experience working with works councils, employee representative bodies and/or unions where relevant to the country context.

  • Demonstrated change leadership and the ability to build organizational capability through rigorous talent decisions, development and inclusive leadership.

  • Strong cultural and local awareness, with the ability to apply regional frameworks thoughtfully while respecting local regulation, culture and employee expectations.

  • Experience working within a global company with accountabilities to the country, region, and global teams
