HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Talent Development Manager serves as a key advisor and strategic partner, bridging business needs with enterprise-wide talent development solutions. This role is responsible for designing, delivering, and managing learning initiatives that support employee growth, enhance organizational capabilities, and align with Varsity Brands’ strategic priorities. Leveraging both consultative skills and Workday Learning (LMS) expertise, the Talent Development Manager collaborates with leaders across functions to assess needs, recommend solutions, and deliver tailored talent development programs that drive business success.

This position requires a dynamic professional with strong consultative skills, instructional design expertise, and firsthand experience administering learning management systems (LMS). The Talent Development Manager requires prior leadership experience to effectively influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization, while functioning as an individual contributor with no immediate direct reports. Reporting to the VP – Talent Development, Enterprise Engagement & Change, the Talent Development Manager works closely with HR and business leaders to influence learning strategies, deliver impactful programs, and ensure continuous improvement across the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Consultation and Collaboration
    • Partner with HR leaders and business stakeholders to identify learning needs, provide strategic recommendations, and align talent development solutions with business objectives
    • Function as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization, using a consultative approach to influence talent development strategies
    • Build and maintain strong partnerships across functions to ensure alignment of talent development programs with organizational initiatives
  • Workday Learning (LMS) Administration:
    • Serve as the primary administrator for Workday Learning (LMS), ensuring seamless alignment of the platform with organizational learning goals
    • Manage LMS content creation, enrollment processes, troubleshooting, and system configurations to enhance program delivery and user experience
    • Monitor and report on LMS metrics to evaluate learning engagement, adoption rates, and program effectiveness
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize LMS functionality, governance, and integrations with other HR technologies
  • Program Design and Management:
    • Lead the creation and execution of scalable learning solutions, applying advanced instructional design principles (e.g., ADDIE) and tools (e.g., Articulate Rise)
    • Oversee the development of enterprise-wide learning programs, including compliance training, onboarding, professional development, and functional skills training
    • Manage a portfolio of training initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, and alignment with organizational goals
    • Partner with external vendors to supplement internal capabilities and deliver high-quality development solutions
  • Facilitation and Engagement:
    • Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual training sessions for employees at all levels, ensuring impactful learning experiences
    • Build opportunities for continuous learning by staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches to talent development
    • Tailor learning programs to meet diverse employee needs and drive participation and engagement
  • Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to measure the effectiveness and ROI of learning initiatives
    • Use data-driven insights to refine learning programs and recommend improvements to enhance business impact
    • Continuously evolve and scale talent development programs to address changing organizational and workforce needs

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 15+ years of progressive HR experience, with 10+ years in a strategic HR Business Partner role
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience leading HR Business Partners is required
  • Extensive experience supporting executive leaders in complex, fast-paced environments, preferably within supply chain or operational functions
  • Experience leading organizational design, change management, and talent development initiatives
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: MS OneNote, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Teams, MS SharePoint, and MS Outlook

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. The ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required.
