Job Description: 

The Director, Global Network Operations is responsible for the operational excellence, availability, and support of the company's global network infrastructure across manufacturing facilities, labs, corporate offices, campuses, and data centers. This role leads a global Network Operations team delivering secure, resilient, and highly available network services in a 24x7 environment.
Operating within a highly automated, global environment where network availability is critical to business continuity, production operations, workforce productivity, and enterprise services, this leader is accountable for ensuring reliable network services that minimize operational risk and downtime. Working closely with the Network Architecture and Network Engineering teams, the Director ensures new technologies are operationally ready, network services remain highly available, and operational processes continuously improve. This role is also accountable for advancing automation-first operations, service reliability, observability, and measurable operational performance across the global network environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a global Network Operations team, including employees and contingent workers, responsible for the availability, performance, and support of enterprise networks.
  • Ensure resilient, highly available network services across manufacturing sites, labs, offices, campuses, and data centers, minimizing operational disruption to business and production environments.
  • Own network operations, including incident, problem, change, and service management, with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Drive operational readiness for new network deployments by partnering with Network Architecture and Network Engineering teams on supportability, monitoring, and handoff.
  • Manage network monitoring, capacity planning, maintenance activities, operational documentation, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Lead major incident response, root cause analysis, and service restoration for critical business and manufacturing network events.
  • Drive adoption of automation, observability, and AI-enabled operations to improve service reliability, MTTR, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and manage service health objectives, operational KPIs, SLAs, scorecards, and continuous improvement plans.
  • Manage relationships with network service providers and strategic vendors, ensuring SLA performance and service quality.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing global operations team while fostering collaboration, accountability, and a customer-first culture.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Manufacturing IT, Network Architecture, and Network Engineering to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable network services.
  • Communicate operational health, risks, major incidents, and recovery plans clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting complex global environments, including manufacturing facilities, laboratories, corporate offices, campuses, and enterprise data centers.
  • Experience operating large-scale global enterprise and manufacturing networks with strong availability and service reliability expectations.
  • Strong operational expertise across enterprise WAN, LAN, wireless, routing and switching, data center networking, and network monitoring platforms.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes, including incident, problem, change, and service management.
  • Experience managing global vendors, telecommunications providers, and outsourced support partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead mission-critical infrastructure where network resilience, availability, and operational excellence are essential to business continuity.
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and executive-level incident communication skills.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 20+ years of enterprise network experience.
  • 10+ years leading global network operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cisco SDN, Arista SDN, and large-scale data center network operations.
  • Experience driving network automation, observability, and AI-enabled operations in a global enterprise environment.
  • Experience developing operational talent pipelines, technical leadership depth, and succession readiness across global network teams.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $188,330.00-363,860.00 USD

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
