A growing organization is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead its operational accounting function and help drive financial excellence across the business. The Director of Accounting will oversee general accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, banking, compliance, and month-end close activities while leading a team of accounting professionals. This role is instrumental in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting executive decision-making, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the general accounting function, including accounts payable, payroll, cash management, and general ledger activities
- Oversee the month-end close process and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Manage global banking relationships and corporate credit card programs
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for executive leadership
- Lead annual audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate policies
- Supervise and develop the accounting, reporting, payroll, and banking teams
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
- Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or Business Central is a plus
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills
