The Opportunity:  

As a Senior Manager, FP&A, you will be responsible for driving the overall financial planning, budgeting and forecasting process for this public company (NASDAQ: SEAT). This role requires an experienced, thoughtful and strategic professional to provide financial insights and analysis to help achieve our financial goals. The successful candidate is energized by working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This is a hybrid role (3 days in-office in the Chicago Loop) reporting to the VP, FP&A. 

How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:  

  • Lead the overall financial planning processes, including annual budgeting, ongoing forecasting throughout the year and long-term financial plans. Set an annual budgeting calendar and coordinate with team members and cross-functionally to deliver quality and insightful work output.
  • Analyze and interpret financial and business results to provide insightful variance and trend analysis, as well as identify risks and opportunities.  
  • Prepare and review reporting and presentations that are used by senior management and the board of directors.
  • Partner with Accounting, External Reporting and the Investor Relations functions to provide reporting and analysis to support investor and public reporting needs.  
  • Lead the continual improvement of budgeting, forecasting and reporting across the company, including management of forecasting and reporting tools, processes and systems. 

How your role expectations will progress as the Senior Manager, FP&A in the first 30, 90, and 180 days:  
 
30 days in 

  • Complete new hire orientation, gaining the resources you need to be successful.
  • Learn how ticket marketplaces operate and how you’ll contribute to providing great experiences for our customers.
  • Acclimate to team and company norms, business objectives, and Vivid Seats values.
  • Meet with various functional leaders across the company to begin developing relationships.
  • Evaluate and understand our existing FP&A processes, responsibilities, and timelines.   
  • Gain a deep understanding of the systems and tools used by the FP&A team.
  • You are observing and asking questions, but also doing the tasks necessary to complete your first monthly close process to ensure reporting and analyses are completed and communicated. 

90 days in 

  • Coordinate and drive the monthly reporting and analysis process including providing the senior leadership team with insightful analysis.
  • Understand and take part in the quarter-end process, ensuring accurate data is provided to external reporting and investor relations.
  • Owning a key financial model, including understanding levers and inputs, providing variance analysis and beginning to formulate improvements to the model.  
  • Understand the main drivers of financial performance, key inputs and data sources and areas which require extra attention.   

180 days in 

  • Are refining our FP&A calendar and processes. 
  • Are proactive and comfortable flagging areas of concern as well as opportunities.
  • Have developed partnerships with stakeholders across the organization.  
  • Have successfully led a forecast/budget cycle, ensuring a smooth process, effective communication, high level of accuracy and thorough variance analysis.  Have considered areas of opportunity for future cycles. 

What You’ll Bring:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or other relevant fields.
  • 7+ years in FP&A or equivalent analytical function.
  • Ability to build a financial model from scratch.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and key accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of various financial reporting systems and data analysis tools.
  • You are no afraid to ask questions and seek input; high standards for accuracy and precision.
  • Highly detail oriented with an aptitude for learning on the job quickly.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic industry.
  • Experience working at a public company is a plus.
