About the Role

The Forensic Services team at BDO Perth forms part of our Advisory practice, delivering specialised forensic accounting and expert advisory services to clients across the Government, Private, and Not-for-Profit sectors. 
We support clients in addressing a broad range of complex matters, including disputes, litigation, investigations, and regulatory challenges, through services such as: 

•    Forensic accounting and fraud investigations 
•    Preparation and review of expert reports 
•    Litigation support and consulting engagements 
•    Asset tracing
•    Support in dispute resolution, regulatory matters, and legal proceedings 
•    Fraud risk framework reviews
•    Risk assessment and prevention

Current Opportunity
We are looking for a Director to join the Forensic Services team in Perth. You will lead forensic accounting engagements, support litigation matters, and contribute to building team capability in a permanent role with flexible work arrangements. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the delivery of forensic accounting engagements and provide expert advisory support 

  • Prepare, review, and contribute to expert reports for litigation and dispute resolution matters

  • Support legal and regulatory proceedings through the preparation of financial analyses 

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance on forensic accounting methodologies and approaches

  • Lead forensic investigations, providing strategic direction and ensuring high-quality outcomes

  • Lead and support engagement teams, ensuring high-quality outcomes are delivered within agreed scope and timeframes 

  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to enhance overall forensic capability 

  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties, including legal advisors and clients 

  • Support senior leadership in business development activities

  • Contribute to the growth of the Forensics practice 


About you 

  • Demonstrated expertise in forensic accounting, ideally developed within consulting, advisory, or professional services environments

  • Experience in the preparation and/or review of expert reports 

  • Proven ability to undertake financial analysis in the context of litigation or dispute matters 

  • Strong technical capability, with the ability to provide guidance and enhance team capability 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in the preparation of expert reports and advisory deliverables 

  • Demonstrated capability and willingness to mentor, coach, and develop junior team members

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related field; professional certifications will be highly regarded
