Job Summary

The Director of Financial Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing business unit financial planning, analysis, and performance management for the operating company. This role partners closely with business unit leaders and central finance and accounting functions to drive financial strategy, ensure accurate reporting, and support regulatory filings and operational decision-making.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead business unit-level financial planning and management processes for the operating company
  • Oversee development of the annual operating plan and long-term business plans
  • Lead forecasting, reforecasting, and variance analysis (actuals vs. budget)
  • Establish and track key financial metrics and performance indicators
  • Provide strategic insights to support financial performance and operational decisions

Financial Strategy & Performance Management

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business unit objectives
  • Lead scorecard development and performance reporting
  • Drive financial discipline and accountability across business units
  • Lead the evaluation of cost-benefit analysis in support of operational decisions and performance
  • Direct the team responsible for business unit work order processing

Business Partnership & Leadership

  • Serve as a liaison between the operating company and central FP&A, Accounting, and Finance teams
  • Partner with business unit leaders (Generation, Nuclear, Distribution, Transmission) to optimize and manage work plans and implement best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial priorities with operational goals

Regulatory Compliance

  • Partner with Regulatory teams to support filing strategy, financial analysis, and execution
  • Provide financial testimony and witness support as needed in regulatory proceedings

What We're Looking For:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred)
  • 8+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including leadership roles
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., utilities, energy) strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and analysis
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior business leaders
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Partner effectively with operational leaders and front-line employees to develop deep knowledge of business unit operational strategy

Compensation Range:

$160,434.00 - $208,565.50
