DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
SUMMARY
This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial reporting, and strategic planning.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in corporate finance, accounting, and operational leadership, with a proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams internationally. While hospitality industry experience is preferred, candidates with strong financial leadership experience in procurement, supply chain, professional services, construction, or related industries are encouraged to apply.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring active involvement in day-to-day financial operations while providing strategic guidance to support the company's growth and profitability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's mission, growth initiatives, and long-term business objectives.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Monitor financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive leadership team.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and business analyses to ownership and leadership.
- Support strategic growth initiatives, acquisitions, and expansion opportunities.
Financial Management & Operations
- Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Payroll oversight
- Revenue recognition
- Fixed assets
- Bank reconciliations
- Month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial records.
- Identify operational efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
Cash Flow, Treasury & Investment Management
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements.
- Develop and implement cash management strategies to support ongoing operations and future growth.
- Monitor banking relationships, lines of credit, and financing arrangements.
- Oversee investment strategies while maintaining prudent risk management practices.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Produce financial reports including:
- Income Statements
- Balance Sheets
- Cash Flow Statements
- Budget-to-Actual Analyses
- Forecast Reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Coordinate and oversee annual audits, tax filings, and financial reviews.
- Maintain compliance with all corporate reporting requirements.
Procurement & Vendor Financial Management
- Support procurement operations through financial oversight and analysis.
- Manage financial relationships with domestic and international vendors and contractors.
- Evaluate vendor contracts, pricing structures, and financial risk exposure.
- Monitor project profitability and procurement-related financial performance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
- Establish performance standards and provide coaching and development opportunities.
- Promote open communication and teamwork across all departments.
Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic Initiatives
- Participate in mergers, acquisitions, and business integration activities.
- Conduct financial due diligence and valuation analyses.
- Support capital investment decisions and strategic business opportunities.
- Provide financial modeling and risk assessments for executive decision making.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of Corporate Controller, Finance Director, Vice President of Finance, or CFO experience.
- Proven experience managing accounting operations and financial reporting functions.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to actively participate in day-to-day financial operations while managing a small team.
- Demonstrated success improving financial performance and operational efficiencies.
- Experience with multi-state operations and domestic/international vendor management.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and corporate growth initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications
- Hospitality, procurement, supply chain, construction, or project-based industry experience.
- Experience with:

- Microsoft Excel (Advanced)

- Experience managing financial operations for organizations with revenues exceeding $50 million annually.

Skills Required
