- Manage all aspects of the underwriting process for Executive Products Group business, with emphasis on D&O and related management liability lines.
- Analyze, evaluate, accept, decline, rate, quote, and bind new and renewal submissions.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to inform risk selection and pricing.
- Develop and execute a marketing plan by targeting new broker relationships, arranging meetings, and representing RLI at industry functions.
- Provide mentorship to underwriting staff, ensuring adherence to underwriting discipline and development of technical expertise.
- Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and product development teams.
- Lead special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field required.
- 5–10 years of underwriting experience in management liability, with demonstrated expertise in D&O across public, private, and nonprofit entities.
- Advanced degree, CPCU, or other professional designation preferred.
- Strong financial acumen with ability to analyze complex financial statements and market data.
- Ability to communicate underwriting decisions and recommendations clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and develop subordinates to ensure increased performance.
- Ability to use software to summarize and analyze large amounts of data.
- Ability to apply a strategic perspective to improve underwriting functions.
