THE OPPORTUNITY

Netflix is seeking an experienced, thoughtful and creative leader who will lead the events team in the Asia Pacific region. Reporting to the VP of Marketing APAC, you’ll set the creative and operational vision for the team, overseeing a world class team of event professionals who bring the Netflix brand to life through events.

At Netflix events are valued as an important tactic in our campaigns and the goal of the team is to drive conversation around Netflix titles, talent and the brand through curated events delivered to a variety of internal and external audiences.

The role is for a leader who is equal parts creative architect and operational leader. Someone who loves big ideas and understands the key role events play in storytelling but also knows how to scale excellence across a large complex organization.

You will need to have strong cross-functional relationships to lead the team who create, shape, and execute events for Netflix. You have the ability to see the big picture and clearly articulate your vision to internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be curious about promotional efforts - paying attention to creativity, concept, quality, and time constraints - and will seek to add value and improve campaigns with new and innovative event ideas.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead Events at scale
  • Ensure every campaign is creatively ambitious, strategically sharp and flawlessly executed whilst being rightsized.

  • Drive consistency and quality across large and diverse event calendar, while allowing space for risk, experimentation and innovation

  • Partner with key stakeholders across multiple disciplines to ensure the impact of the events team is meeting the ever evolving business needs

Lead a high performing team

  • Lead a team of leaders, and a team of 20+ understanding the local nuances across the region

  • Set clear standard and direction for the team, without micromanaging - focusing on impactful outcomes rather than process

  • Inspire, develop and empower your team, championing the netflix culture and nurturing the values.

Operate with rigour and collaboration

  • Creative approach to solving problems ensuring the team continue to meet the needs of our evolving business

  • Encourage bold thinking that plays to Netflix's unique strengths

  • Push the teams, and cross-functional teams to be deliberate and intentional about when and if an event is the right solution for a campaign

Be a key member of the the APAC marketing leadership team

  • Partner seamlessly with cross-function teams including, but not limited to, Marketing, Awards, Communications, and Content teams both in APAC and around the world

  • Help shape the broader marketing culture—setting the tone for collaboration, ambition, and creative excellence.

  • Be an ambassador for the events team in broader forums, ensuring the teams output delivers on company priorities

WHO YOU ARE

  • An experienced leader with a deep, proven track record, ideally in entertainment, media, or culture-led brands.

  • Equally comfortable dreaming up standout ideas and running complex operations at scale.

  • A natural leader who can motivate large teams, recruit top talent and develop future leaders whilst smartly leveraging team resources for maximum impact

  • An outstanding communicator with strong instincts who can discern what is and is not required to deliver a successful campaign

  • Adaptable, curious, and resilient—energised by change rather than slowed by it.

  • Passionate about the events industry, and whilst you may not be running many live projects in this role, you have the experience and ability to roll up your sleeves and dive in to support the team when needed

  • Experienced working in global organisations, navigating matrixed structures and multiple stakeholders.

  • Transparent and have the courage to challenge, ask questions or call out obstacles

  • Effective communication in English, an additional Asian language is a plus

  • While APAC market fluency is essential, on-the-ground regional experience is a plus, not a prerequisite

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
