THE OPPORTUNITY
Netflix is seeking an experienced, thoughtful and creative leader who will lead the events team in the Asia Pacific region. Reporting to the VP of Marketing APAC, you’ll set the creative and operational vision for the team, overseeing a world class team of event professionals who bring the Netflix brand to life through events.
At Netflix events are valued as an important tactic in our campaigns and the goal of the team is to drive conversation around Netflix titles, talent and the brand through curated events delivered to a variety of internal and external audiences.
The role is for a leader who is equal parts creative architect and operational leader. Someone who loves big ideas and understands the key role events play in storytelling but also knows how to scale excellence across a large complex organization.
You will need to have strong cross-functional relationships to lead the team who create, shape, and execute events for Netflix. You have the ability to see the big picture and clearly articulate your vision to internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be curious about promotional efforts - paying attention to creativity, concept, quality, and time constraints - and will seek to add value and improve campaigns with new and innovative event ideas.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead Events at scale
Ensure every campaign is creatively ambitious, strategically sharp and flawlessly executed whilst being rightsized.
Drive consistency and quality across large and diverse event calendar, while allowing space for risk, experimentation and innovation
Partner with key stakeholders across multiple disciplines to ensure the impact of the events team is meeting the ever evolving business needs
Lead a high performing team
Lead a team of leaders, and a team of 20+ understanding the local nuances across the region
Set clear standard and direction for the team, without micromanaging - focusing on impactful outcomes rather than process
Inspire, develop and empower your team, championing the netflix culture and nurturing the values.
Operate with rigour and collaboration
Creative approach to solving problems ensuring the team continue to meet the needs of our evolving business
Encourage bold thinking that plays to Netflix's unique strengths
Push the teams, and cross-functional teams to be deliberate and intentional about when and if an event is the right solution for a campaign
Be a key member of the the APAC marketing leadership team
Partner seamlessly with cross-function teams including, but not limited to, Marketing, Awards, Communications, and Content teams both in APAC and around the world
Help shape the broader marketing culture—setting the tone for collaboration, ambition, and creative excellence.
Be an ambassador for the events team in broader forums, ensuring the teams output delivers on company priorities
WHO YOU ARE
An experienced leader with a deep, proven track record, ideally in entertainment, media, or culture-led brands.
Equally comfortable dreaming up standout ideas and running complex operations at scale.
A natural leader who can motivate large teams, recruit top talent and develop future leaders whilst smartly leveraging team resources for maximum impact
An outstanding communicator with strong instincts who can discern what is and is not required to deliver a successful campaign
Adaptable, curious, and resilient—energised by change rather than slowed by it.
Passionate about the events industry, and whilst you may not be running many live projects in this role, you have the experience and ability to roll up your sleeves and dive in to support the team when needed
Experienced working in global organisations, navigating matrixed structures and multiple stakeholders.
Transparent and have the courage to challenge, ask questions or call out obstacles
Effective communication in English, an additional Asian language is a plus
While APAC market fluency is essential, on-the-ground regional experience is a plus, not a prerequisite
