Microsoft's event web and mobile experiences are the front door for millions of attendees — and every element of that experience, from tools and content to creative and design, shapes whether an attendee registers, engages, and returns. We're looking for a Director - Events & Experiences Marketing to own the Event business strategy for the portfolio of websites and the mobile app. The individual in role will partner deeply across organizations inclusive of events, tools, and integrated marketing to elevate the portfolio experiences for our audiences while optimizing for executional excellence. This is a program-level leadership role that will articulate drive the long-term vision of the web and mobile portfolio forward. The right candidate is a self-starter and true leader who drives quality and innovation across every dimension of the attendee digital experience elevating the experience for customers and driving efficiencies in how the work gets done. They bring deep industry knowledge and technical fluency, lead through influence across a complex stakeholder landscape, and hold the bar for what great experiences look like across a multi-event, multi-platform portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Own Event business strategy for website portfolio and mobile app. Influence across executives, tools, and integrated marketing to execute on the strategy. 
  • Partner with tools and engineering to translate experience vision into a prioritized feature roadmap — scoping new functionality, articulating business cases, and advocating for platform investments that advance the portfolio.
  • Deliver consistency across the web and mobile portfolio and leverage data and insights to drive differentiation when needed. Scope and drive test and learn opportunities across web and mobile app that align to the events business strategy and advance and have the opportunity to drive significant business impact. Know and understand the web and mobile portfolio and the needs of your stakeholders deeply, follow and understand industry trends and best practices, so meaningful advancements can be made. 
  • Direct a large agency team focused on delivery of UX/UI/Design setting creative and manage the agency ensuring accountability across deliverables.
  • Direct the development of governance across base experiences, change management, feedback frameworks, and intake processes. Eliminate and drive clarity to increase time to market. Review and action reporting that connects digital experience quality to business outcomes and surfaces actionable insights for leadership and event program owners.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
  • 5+ years business to business, business to consumer, digital, or experiential/event marketing experience OR equivalent experience.
 Additional or preferred qualifications
  • 5-7+ years of experience in digital experience, marketing, or program management with a strong focus on web and/or mobile surfaces Deep industry knowledge of web and mobile event or marketing experiences — a clear, informed point of view on what great looks like and why Technical fluency in how websites and mobile applications function — not a developer, but able to engage credibly with engineering on platform architecture, site behavior, and feature feasibility
  • Demonstrated experience directing agency partners across web, mobile, and UX/AX disciplines — owning the relationship, setting direction, holding quality standards as an individual contributor Experience building or operating within design systems — understanding what they are, why they matter, and how to drive adoption Strong UX/UI design sensibility with the ability to provide directional, technically-informed feedback
  • Experience working with engineering or product teams to scope and prioritize features — comfortable translating experience needs into technical requirements and roadmap inputs Fluency in analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Clarity, Amplitude) with a track record of using data to drive experience improvements 
  • Proven ability to lead through influence across senior stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations Background in event marketing or event technology platforms, including familiarity with mobile event applications Experience contributing to or owning a product or platform roadmap Competitive analysis experience with a track record of translating findings into strategic action Familiarity with Microsoft brand standards or equivalent enterprise design systems
  • Lead audience journey reviews across web and mobile experiences, ensuring a clear and impactful experience.  

Events IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
