The Director of Technology Solutions is a senior technology leader responsible for defining and driving the architecture, integrations, and technology decisions across all Member platforms while leading a high-performing team. This role ensures seamless interoperability and scalability of systems supporting enrollment, product, benefits, and member data, expanding beyond traditional enrollment functions to encompass the full Member experience. The Director will also oversee budgetary planning and execution, including business case development, proforma creation, and financial modeling to support strategic initiatives.
Strategic & Technical Leadership
- Own the end-to-end architecture for Member platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
- Define integration patterns for enrollment, ID Cards, and member data systems.
- Champion modernization initiatives, including API-first design, cloud adoption, and data interoperability.
- Ensure all Member domains adhere to the Humana North Star Architecture principles, driving consistency, scalability, and long-term sustainability across platforms.
Innovation & Modernization
- Drive platform evolution through emerging technologies (e.g., cloud-native solutions, AI/ML for personalization).
- Promote best practices in Agile delivery, DevOps, and API development.
Integration Leadership
- Ensure seamless integration across internal systems and external partners.
- Establish governance for data exchange and interoperability standards.
Business Partnership & Financial Stewardship
- Collaborate with Product Owners, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet regulatory and business requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical strategies and actionable roadmaps.
- Develop and manage budgets, including business use cases, proforma creation, and financial modeling to support technology investments.
Compliance & Security
- Maintain strong controls for data privacy, security, and adherence to federal and state regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Humana technical and security standards.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead and develop a team of 6+ technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Influence enterprise technology decisions and represent Member platforms in strategic forums.
A successful Candidate would:
- Have prior experience leading software modernization
- Have a proven track record of successful delivery of complex IT initiatives in a regulated environment.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Humana North Star framework, cloud-based architecture, and modern API frameworks.
- Have a strong understanding of insurance products, benefits administration, and healthcare industry standards.
- Have knowledge of Humana technical and security standards and software delivery practices.
- Be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including direct oversight of large technology implementations.
- Prior experience leading teams of 8+ individuals with proven people leadership skills.
- 5 + years of demonstrated expertise in member administration platforms and enterprise API management.
- 3+ years of strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, business case development, and proforma creation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree

This role will report to an Associate Vice President.
This role is only for Applicants that reside in Louisville, KY or Tampa, Florida. This role will be hybrid office 3 days per week from the specified locations.
The person hired for this position will have 6-8 direct reports.
