Indus Action aims to enable over 800 million vulnerable citizens in India to move irreversibly out of extreme poverty by facilitating access to critical government support to which they are entitled. Role Brief

We are looking for a Director of Technology who brings a blend of strategic depth and hands-on capability. You will drive the end-to-end technology and product vision, while also rolling up your sleeves to ensure high-quality execution across all digital touchpoints. This is a builder’s role - perfect for someone who thrives in high-growth environments, can architect scalable platforms and leads teams by example. You’ll own engineering and product functions, ensuring alignment with the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Role & Responsibilities

● Define and own the tech and product vision aligned with Indus Action’s mission, market needs and business goals.
● Architect and scale secure, user-centric web and mobile platforms to expand welfare access.
● Lead cross-functional teams across product, design, UX and engineering, fostering a high-performance, innovation-driven culture.
● Drive agile roadmaps with rapid iteration, ensuring responsiveness to user feedback and policy shifts.
● Implement best-in-class development practices, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and platform security.
● Oversee scalable data architecture, ethical data use and actionable analytics.
● Collaborate with government, operations and fundraising teams to drive product-market fit.
● Stay ahead of general tech and AI trends to inform strategic decisions and product evolution.
● Partner closely with the CTO to shape organisational strategy with a strong tech-product lens.

Requirements
Skills & Expertise 
● Proven track record of aligning tech with mission-driven outcomes.
● Deep experience in building scalable, interoperable digital tools in low-resource, high-impact settings.
● Strong leadership in product strategy, UX for marginalised users and engineering execution.
● Hands-on with cloud, microservices, DevOps, agile and secure system design.
● Adept at identifying inefficiencies and deploying tech to enhance service delivery and beneficiary impact.

Benefits
Compensation 
The compensation range will be between 25-30LPA, depending upon the qualifications, experience, and fit for the role.
