As an Engineering Leader on the Equity Trading Technology team, you will have the opportunity to build and manage a team of approx. 12 talented engineers while also leading the design and development of high-quality software for sophisticated trading products. You will help build complex new trading capabilities to expand and enhance the common trading platform used across multiple asset classes within Fidelity’s Asset Management business unit. The trading platform is at the heart of one of the 2026 Top 25 programs across Fidelity, with high visibility at senior leadership levels. We are looking for someone with solid leadership experience and strong technical expertise to help build and support this critical platform!
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
- 10+ years’ experience in software engineering or architecture roles, delivering high quality software using agile development practices
- Significant technical knowledge and hands-on experience coding high-performance applications in multiple programming languages across a range of client, middle tier, messaging, caching and database technologies including Java, Spring Boot, Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol, Kafka, Scala, Python, Angular, JavaScript, WPF, C# and PL/SQL
- Expertise with test automation frameworks that support all types of testing (unit, component, integration, end to end, regression, etc.) and integrating those tests during the CI/CD process when appropriate
- Experience and passion for leading, coaching, mentoring and developing teams of high performing software engineers, supporting autonomy, mastery and purpose in each team member’s work
- Strong communication skills to build and maintain cross-functional partnerships at all levels of the organization and to document and present design options and decisions in an organized manner to technical as well as non-technical audiences
