Lineage is the world's largest temperature-controlled industrial REIT and logistics solutions provider, with a global network of over 400 facilities, spanning 25 countries across North & South America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Working a Lineage is not just a job - it's an opportunity to innovate and put your mark on how food moves from the farm to dinner tables around the world. As a member of the Lineage team, you are a critical link in the food supply chain.

Position Details

We are now looking to appoint an experienced Director, Employee Relations & HR Policy to lead our regional employee and industrial relations strategy across Asia Pacific.

This is a unique opportunity for either an accomplished ER/IR leader or a senior employment lawyer looking to move into a strategic, business-facing leadership role.

Partnering closely with executive leaders, legal stakeholders and HR teams, you'll help shape workforce strategy, navigate organisational change, manage risk and drive commercially focused outcomes across a complex, unionised and highly regulated operating environment.

Why This Role Could Be the Right Move for a Lawyer

Rather than simply advising on employment law issues, this role offers the opportunity to influence business strategy, lead major workforce initiatives and drive outcomes across a diverse Asia Pacific portfolio.

You'll work at the intersection of:

  • Enterprise bargaining and industrial relations strategy

  • Organisational restructuring and workforce transformation

  • Employment law risk management and compliance

  • Executive stakeholder engagement

  • Union and workforce relations

  • HR policy and governance

This is an opportunity to step into a true business leadership role while continuing to leverage your deep employment law expertise.

What You Bring

We are looking for a commercially minded leader with deep expertise in employment and industrial relations and a proven ability to influence outcomes in complex organisational environments.

You may come from:

  • A senior Employee Relations or Industrial Relations leadership background

  • A workplace relations, employment law or industrial law practice

  • An in-house legal, ER or HR advisory function within a large organisation

Your experience will ideally include:

  • Significant experience advising on employment, labour and industrial relations matters

  • Expertise managing workforce change, restructures, consultations and organisational transformation initiatives

  • Proven involvement in enterprise bargaining, collective negotiations and union engagement strategies

  • Experience advising senior executives on complex workplace risk, compliance and governance matters

  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments and regulatory frameworks

  • Experience representing or managing matters before tribunals, regulators or dispute resolution forums

  • Demonstrated success operating in partnership with business leaders to deliver commercially pragmatic outcomes

  • Ability to influence and build credibility across executives, operational leaders, HR and Legal stakeholders

  • Experience working within or alongside large, complex organisations through secondments, embedded advisory arrangements or in-house roles

  • Exposure to APAC jurisdictions and multi-country employment environments will be highly regarded

In summary, if you are an experienced lawyer seeking to transition into a strategic in-house leadership role, we would love to hear from you.

If you have built your career advising organisations through complex workplace challenges and/or you have gained meaningful experience working within businesses through secondments, embedded advisory roles or in-house engagements, such experience will be highly regarded.
