The Director, Electrical Balance of System & Grid is a senior executive leadership role responsible for driving the Company's technical strategy, market engagement, and commercial growth across Australia's utility-scale solar and energy storage sector. The Director – Electrical Balance of System (eBOS) & Grid is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the Company's technical strategy, customer engagement, and market growth within Australia's utility-scale solar and energy storage sector. As the Company's leading technical authority, this individual will work closely with renewable energy developers, EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and asset owners to support the specification, adoption, and successful deployment of the Company's eBOS solutions. The role combines deep technical expertise with commercial leadership, helping to position the Company as a preferred partner for utility-scale renewable energy projects across Australia. The Director will provide strategic leadership across product development, engineering, business development, market intelligence, and technical sales while ensuring the Company's offerings remain aligned with evolving industry requirements, grid standards, and customer needs. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience within Australia's renewable energy sector, a deep understanding of utility-scale solar and BESS infrastructure, and an established network of relationships across developers, EPC contractors, engineering consultancies, and industry stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarket & Customer Leadership- Build and maintain senior relationships with developers, EPC contractors, consultants, and asset owners.
- Support business development activities and major project pursuits through technical leadership and customer engagement.
- Represent the Company at industry events, conferences, and customer forums.
- Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and customer requirements to support growth objectives.
- Serve as the Company's subject matter expert for utility-scale solar, BESS, and eBOS solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to customers and internal teams on project design, constructability, performance, and compliance.
- Support the specification of Company products into project designs and procurement packages.
- Ensure solutions meet applicable Australian Standards and industry requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, product, and supply chain teams to align product offerings with market needs.
- Provide technical input into new product development and innovation initiatives.
- Support tender submissions, technical proposals, and commercial negotiations.
- Assist in resolving technical issues throughout project execution.
- Develop and strengthen the Company's reputation as a trusted technical partner within the Australian renewable energy market.
- Maintain awareness of grid connection requirements, market developments, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to industry working groups and technical forums where appropriate.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Australia's renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, or utility sectors.
- Demonstrated experience supporting utility-scale solar and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
- Strong understanding of eBOS systems, electrical infrastructure, and utility-scale project delivery.
- Proven experience working with developers, EPC contractors, and engineering consultants.
- Established network within the Australian renewable energy industry.
- Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status desirable.
