Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Inspira Data Science team is seeking a innovative and results-driven Director of Data Science to lead our data science function and drive a data forward culture across the organization. This role will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic roadmap for data science initiatives, managing a high-performing team, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and scalable solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the data science strategy aligned with business goals
- Identify opportunities for data driven innovation and competitive advantage
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on continuous learning
- Oversee the development, deployment, and monitoring of predictive models and analytical solutions
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable impact
- Champion the use of AI-assisted code generation tools to accelerate development and improve productivity
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Reporting to implement and maintain semantic layers to enable self-service analytics and scalable reporting
- Partner with key stakeholders (business leaders, Product, Marketing, Finance, Operations) to integrate data science into decision-making process
- Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations
- Establish best practices for model development, validation and ethical use of AI
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations
- Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in data science
Required:
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of related experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles
- Proven track record of delivering impactful data science or analytic solutions
- Strong expertise in machine learning, and statistical modeling
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL and R
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake)
- Familiarity with MLOps and model lifecycle management (preferred)
- Experience with Docker Containers
Compensation & Benefits
$150,000-$175,000 per year
