Role Overview

This is a senior analytics leadership role within one of Coupang's emerging fintech businesses, Rocket Pay. The position is responsible for building and scaling the analytics function, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and business leadership to drive data-informed decision making. The leader will oversee a small but high-impact team spanning analytics and data infrastructure capabilities, while establishing the foundations for future growth.

This role is responsible for defining and executing the analytics vision for a high-growth business, ensuring leaders have the insights, measurement capabilities, and decision frameworks required to scale effectively. Acting as a strategic partner to senior executives, the successful candidate will help identify emerging opportunities, bring structure to complex business challenges, and drive data-informed decisions across product, customer, and commercial domains. Through a combination of analytics leadership, measurement strategy, and organizational influence, this individual will play a critical role in shaping the trajectory of the business.

Given the early stage nature of the business, the role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic thinking with execution, build efficient processes and automation, and help shape the long-term analytics roadmap. Success in this position will come from the ability to influence cross-functional teams, operate effectively in a fast-moving environment, and establish analytics as a key driver of business growth and operational excellence.

What You Will Do

• Define and execute the analytics strategy and roadmap for Rocket Pay to support business growth and operational excellence.
• Build and scale analytics, reporting, and measurement capabilities that enable leaders to make data-driven decisions.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve business problems, and prioritize high-impact initiatives.
• Develop measurement frameworks and success metrics to evaluate product, customer, and commercial performance.
• Lead experimentation programs by designing tests, evaluating outcomes, and translating results into business actions.
• Evaluate machine learning models and analytical solutions by defining performance metrics and measuring business impact.
• Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and actionable recommendations.
• Influence senior executives through effective analytical storytelling and strategic insight generation. 
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team across analytics and data infrastructure capabilities. Drive scalable processes, automation, and operational efficiencies across the analytics function.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, decision science, business intelligence, or related quantitative fields 
• Experience designing and scaling measurement frameworks in complex, data-rich environments
• Experience evaluating machine learning models, experimentation programs, and performance measurement frameworks
• Experience partnering directly with executive leadership and influencing senior stakeholders through analytical insights
• Experience translating ambiguous business challenges into structured analytical approaches and recommendations
• Experience defining analytics strategy, roadmaps, and prioritization frameworks across multiple stakeholders
• Strong SQL and Python proficiency
• Strong knowledge of experimentation design, causal inference, and statistical analysis
• Experience leading and developing analytics, data science, and/or data engineering teams
• Experience building scalable reporting, measurement, and insight-generation capabilities 

Preferred Qualification

• Experience in fintech, payments, e-commerce, marketplace, or high-growth technology companies
• Experience building analytics organizations in rapidly scaling businesses
• Experience influencing product strategy and business direction through data-driven insights 
• Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering organizations 
• Advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
