This role leads the economic analysis of potential acquisitions and divestitures incorporating engineering, operations, financial, and commercial information. This is a high-energy, entrepreneurial role in a dynamic team environment. Success in this role is measured by the ability to play a lead role on screening potential investments, presenting opportunities to senior executives, and integrating new acquisitions into the company.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Working Manager in the evaluation of economic data for potential acquisitions and divestitures.
- Supervises and directs the work of staff to accomplish the objectives of the department and company.
- Participate in management presentations and/or data rooms.
- Research and present current market trends in the energy and midstream space.
- Source and evaluate technical, financial, and regulatory information for investment opportunities.
- Identify and quantify upside and downside scenarios for potential acquisitions and divestitures.
- Perform detailed valuation analysis and scenario modeling.
- Create and deliver presentations to senior executives and Chairman of the Board.
- Maintain market intelligence by attending business development workshops, seminars, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
- Adheres to the company’s values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
- Supports company vision and mission.
Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years minimum experience in oil and gas industry in positions of increasing responsibility, midstream experience preferred.
- Preferred experience in acquisitions and divestitures, investment banking, or private equity investing.
- Ability to source and analyze complex technical and financial information.
- Ability to analyze financial statements and build detailed financial models.
- Ability to work through large volumes of data and condense to a workable form.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Must be able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multi-person deal team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
- Excellent management, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Required: strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
- Preferred: Bloomberg terminal and public data retrieval (i.e. EDGAR, SEDAR, EIA, etc).
Education Requirements:
- Strong academic credentials from a top-tier university with an undergraduate degree in engineering, finance, economics or accounting preferred.
- MBA required.
