About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Director - Curriculum & Learning to lead Codingal’s curriculum roadmap and execution across Coding, Math, and ELA.

This person will directly lead the current curriculum team, work with freelancers and subject matter experts, and ensure that every course delivers a high-quality learning experience for students, teachers, and parents.

This is not a strategy-only role. We are looking for someone who can manage the team, review curriculum quality deeply, drive execution, build processes, improve teacher readiness, and connect curriculum outcomes to student engagement, renewals, and long-term learning impact.

Key Responsibilities1. Own Curriculum Roadmap Across Coding, Math, and ELA
  • Define and manage the curriculum roadmap across Coding, Math, and ELA.

  • Prioritize new course creation, course upgrades, project refreshes, assessments, teacher guides, and parent-facing learning outcomes.

  • Ensure that every course has clear learning objectives, structured progression, engaging projects, and measurable outcomes.

  • Build a strong quarterly and monthly execution plan for the curriculum team.

  • Balance long-term curriculum innovation with immediate business and operational priorities.

2. Lead the Curriculum Team
  • Directly manage the internal curriculum team across Coding, Math, and ELA.

  • Set clear goals, ownership areas, timelines, and quality expectations for each team member.

  • Review weekly progress and ensure timely delivery of curriculum projects.

  • Manage freelancers, contractors, and subject matter experts working with the curriculum team.

  • Build a strong culture of ownership, speed, quality, and accountability within the team.

3. Improve Curriculum Quality and Learning Outcomes
  • Set high standards for lesson design, project quality, assessments, homework, rubrics, quizzes, and student practice.

  • Ensure that curriculum is age-appropriate, engaging, and outcome-driven across different student levels.

  • Create quality review systems to ensure consistency across all subjects and courses.

  • Use student performance, teacher feedback, parent feedback, class recordings, and renewal data to identify curriculum gaps.

  • Continuously improve courses based on real classroom insights and student learning outcomes.

4. Strengthen Teacher Training and Delivery Quality
  • Oversee teacher training and curriculum delivery standards across all subjects.

  • Create and improve teacher guides, lesson notes, demo flows, project explanation guides, and common doubt-handling material.

  • Work closely with teacher operations and academic teams to ensure teachers can deliver the curriculum effectively.

  • Set up clear standards and rubrics for teacher hiring, teacher certification, and teacher evaluation across different levels.

  • Ensure that teacher delivery remains consistent, engaging, and aligned with Codingal’s learning philosophy.

5. Build AI-First and Future-Ready Learning Experiences
  • Integrate AI meaningfully into Codingal’s curriculum across Coding, Math, and ELA.

  • Identify opportunities to use AI for student practice, personalized feedback, teacher support, assessments, and internal curriculum development.

  • Ensure that Codingal’s curriculum stays relevant with the future of coding, AI, and digital learning.

  • Work with product and engineering teams to bring curriculum ideas into the learning platform, student dashboard, teacher tools, and parent-facing progress reports.

6. Work Cross-Functionally With Business, Product, and Operations
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Teacher Operations, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing teams.

  • Help define how curriculum improvements can improve student engagement, parent confidence, referrals, renewals, and repeat revenue.

  • Support Sales and Customer Success teams with clear course outcomes, parent communication points, demos, and learning progression narratives.

  • Use business and learning data to prioritize curriculum improvements that create the highest impact.

7. Build Curriculum Systems and Processes
  • Create scalable systems for curriculum planning, review, versioning, QA, teacher enablement, and launch readiness.

  • Ensure every curriculum launch has proper lesson plans, teacher notes, assessments, project files, and training material.

  • Build a structured feedback loop from teachers, students, parents, and internal teams.

  • Improve documentation and operating rhythm so the curriculum function can scale beyond individual contributors.

What We Are Looking For
  • 10-14 years of experience in curriculum design, instructional design, learning experience, academics, or edtech.

  • Strong experience in K-12 education, preferably in an online learning or edtech environment.

  • Experience managing curriculum teams, content teams, academic teams, or instructional design teams.

  • Ability to lead a team of 8-15 people, including full-time team members, freelancers, and contractors.

  • Experience creating teacher training programs, certification rubrics, or instructional quality frameworks.

  • Experience working with product and engineering teams to build learning platforms or student-facing learning experiences.

  • Experience in scaling curriculum across multiple subjects or geographies.

Expected Role Split
  • 25% curriculum roadmap and prioritization.

  • 25% team management and execution tracking.

  • 20% curriculum quality review and learning outcomes.

  • 15% teacher training, delivery quality, and teacher evaluation standards.

  • 15% product, AI, data, retention, and cross-functional initiatives.
