As the Director - Communications, you will lead integrated communication strategies that advance Wesco’s commercial priorities and strengthen relationships with customers, suppliers and industry influencers. You will translate business strategy, market insights, solutions, products and services into clear, compelling narratives and programs that increase market awareness, support sales growth and position Wesco as a trusted partner and market leader. You will serve as a strategic advisor to marketing and commercial leaders, balancing strategy with execution to lead a high-performing team, strengthen capabilities and stakeholder partnerships, and deliver consistent, effective communications that advance business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead One Wesco commercial communications strategy and operating plan, aligning business-unit, functional and channel programs with Wesco priorities, brand standards and commercial goals.
  • Build market awareness and thought leadership through integrated campaigns, executive visibility, trade media relations, industry influencer engagement, speaking opportunities and a coordinated speakers bureau.
  • Partner with commercial, sales, marketing, supplier, customer, supply chain and operations leaders to develop differentiated messaging and communication programs for Wesco solutions, products, services, strategic initiatives and market opportunities.
  • Equip teams with clear value propositions, proof points, tools and stories to engage customers and suppliers consistently and credibly.
  • Provide strategic counsel and communication support for business priorities, organizational change, issues and reputation risks affecting commercial stakeholders; coordinate with Enterprise and Brand Communications, Community Relations and Communications Operations to ensure alignment and effective execution.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Commercial Communications team; establish priorities, allocate resources, manage agency or external partner support as needed, and measure outcomes to demonstrate the business value of communications investments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree - Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or related field required; Masters Degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressively increasing communications leadership experience
  • Experience leading enterprise communication strategies within complex, matrixed organizations
  • Demonstrated success advising senior executives and managing high-impact communication initiatives
  • Experience leading teams and developing communication capabilities
  • Experience supporting organizational transformation and change initiatives
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities
  • Ability to travel 0% - 25%

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
