Compensation: $180,000-$245,000 per year

The job:

As the Director of Commercial Strategy- Growth at Buildertrend, you'll build and own the cross-sell go-to-market strategy that helps thousands of contractors adopt the tools that grow their businesses. As Buildertrend expands its platform with AI-enabled capabilities and new offerings, you'll design how those products reach an installed base of more than 20,000 customers, from segmentation to pricing to playbooks. You'll partner closely with product, sales, customer success and growth leaders, translating strategy into frameworks those teams can execute with confidence. Your influence will come from data, process and cross-functional leadership, not formal authority, so builders experience one coordinated path to new tools rather than a patchwork of separate launches.

What you will do:

  • Own Buildertrend's cross-sell go-to-market strategy across the customer lifecycle, including segmentation, sequencing and channel planning for new product introductions.

  • Partner with product teams during market validation to define customer profiles, buyer personas, pricing recommendations and positioning for new offerings.

  • Build repeatable go-to-market frameworks and playbooks that let sales, customer success and growth teams execute cross-sell motions consistently.

  • Embed expansion opportunities across the full customer journey, from onboarding and adoption through renewal.

  • Establish the success metrics, operating cadence and performance analytics used to evaluate and improve the cross-sell strategy.

  • Lead cross-functional alignment across product, sales, customer success and marketing without formal reporting authority, building buy-in through data and process rather than mandate.

  • Analyze customer data, product usage and market trends to identify growth opportunities and prioritize initiatives.

  • Build business cases, executive reporting and dashboards that measure cross-sell performance and support new commercial initiatives.

  • Ensure go-to-market readiness ahead of new product launches, including AI-powered offerings.

  • Establish governance for cross-functional go-to-market planning, creating the ongoing rhythm that keeps teams coordinated as new products launch.

  • Communicate strategic recommendations, progress, risks and opportunities to executive leadership.

Who you are and what you need:

  • Bachelor's degree required; an MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.

  • 8-12 years of experience in commercial strategy, go-to-market strategy, revenue strategy or product marketing.

  • Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS or technology environment required.

  • Experience building commercial strategies for B2B SaaS products that drive customer growth, expansion revenue, and product adoption.

  • Strong understanding of customer lifecycle management, B2B SaaS revenue models and go-to-market organizations.

  • Experience partnering with Product Management to translate new product development into successful commercial launches.

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using customer insights and performance data to drive decisions.

  • Ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead through collaboration rather than direct authority.

  • Experience working across sales, customer success, product, marketing and operations organizations.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives at once.

  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.

We are giving you:

  • Exceptional health packages, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus life insurance and short- and long-term disability benefits

  • A 401(k) plan with Buildertrend matching contributions to help you plan for the future

  • Generous paid time off, 11 paid holidays, plus personal days to make sure you have time to recharge

  • Parental leave and paid sabbaticals to support you during life’s big moments

  • Volunteer time off – because giving back matters

  • Wellness program and onsite fitness center to keep you feeling your best

  • Opportunities for hybrid or remote work to give you the flexibility you need

  • Technology reimbursement to help cover costs for the tech you need to do your job from home
