Our teams keep optimizing how Customers discover and stream both VOD and Live content. That includes investments in frontend, backend, and infrastructural developments. We also embrace Machine Learning to refine our CX.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a strategic, analytical, and results-oriented leader to head the Finance, Strategy, and Operations function for Coupang Play and other new business initiative. This role involves close collaboration with business executives across various departments to foster growth, enhance profitability, and achieve operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the comprehensive financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process for Coupang Play and a new business unit.
  • Implement a weekly execution framework, aligning financial objectives with strategic initiatives and ensuring accountability across all functions.
  • Develop and oversee annual budgets, long-term forecasts, and business cases for significant investments.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance for new business initiatives, including AVOD, Sports Pass, and live content offerings.
  • Construct and refine financial models to facilitate business-level P&L analysis.
  • Present financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and lead initiatives to improve cost efficiency, monetization, and operational scalability through data and automation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders (Product, Engineering, Content, Legal, Marketing) to evaluate new opportunities and monitor performance.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to assist senior leadership in evaluating strategic decisions, investment opportunities, and operational trade-offs.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, strategy consulting, or investment banking, preferably within digital content or technology sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in driving financial strategy within a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including advanced MS Excel proficiency, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Experience in supporting executive-level decision-making and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working in or with OTT, AVOD, or digital media businesses is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-driven business or operational initiatives is a plus.
  • Fluency in both Korean and English is preferred but not mandatory.

In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant’s designated address via registered mail. Please be informed that the job applicant is required to pay the postage on the registered mail.  
  4. In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.  
  5. The above paragraphs 1 - 4 shall only apply when the labor-related laws of Korea govern the application. They are otherwise not applicable.
