Job Posting TitleDirector of Specialty Business Development - RemoteJob DescriptionThe Director of Business Development leads the strategy and execution of specialty and home delivery pharmacy services, including dispensing, contracting, and marketing initiatives. This role is instrumental in driving client growth and retention through data-driven insights, systematic performance tracking, and cross-functional collaboration. This position ensures alignment across internal stakeholders to support strategic objectives and deliver measurable business outcome.
Responsibilities
- Leads, manage, and mentor team members to ensure alignment with departmental objectives, coordinate workload, and deliver on client expectations
- Directs innovative programs, products, and services developed based on market need assessments to manage costs, improving outcomes, and member experience
- Develops the Product Sales strategy and program design for clients and consultants, using data and analytics to support adoption of services and products with new and existing clients
- Collaborates with Prime’s Sales and Marketing teams to advance enterprise growth objectives by shaping overall specialty pharmacy strategy, contributing in the review of Request for Proposals (RFPs), and evaluating contract documentation to ensure alignment with business goals
- Develop and deliver persuasive, narrative-driven presentations to both internal and external stakeholders, effectively using storytelling to clearly articulate value propositions and confidently make decisions during finalist presentations
- Provides consultative expertise to assist clients with strategy formation, data interpretation, and recommendations for program and/or plan improvements
- Other duties as assigned
- Up to 20% travel
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Care Administration, or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
- 8 years' experience including PBM, product development, market strategy, consultative experience within PBM, specialty pharmacy, or other related entity
- 5 years of leadership/supervisory/people management experience
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of payer/PBM economics and a strong understanding of key issues and market levers, given the changing US healthcare landscape
- Ability to anticipate market strategy and create/execute on multiple projects and manage project timelines
- Strong collaboration skills; ability to work with and lead a variety of internal cross-functional teams at all levels within the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to create and deliver presentations to leaders and subject matter expertise
- Ability to establish trust, respect and credibility and form close working relationships with all stakeholders
- Strong understanding of the pharmacy supply chain and proven track record of strategy and/or sales support
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, PharmD, JD or other advanced degree
