ABOUT PRECISION NEUROSCIENCE
Precision Neuroscience is building a next-generation brain–computer interface (BCI) to heal and empower millions of people living with neurological conditions.

Our first product, Layer 7, is designed to help people with severe paralysis operate digital devices using only their thoughts—opening up new possibilities for daily life.

Our team brings together experts in neurosurgery, AI and machine learning, microfabrication, electrical engineering, clinical science, and more. We combine deep technical rigor with a people-first mindset to turn breakthrough research into real-world medical solutions.

As a Precision employee, you’ll join one of the fastest-moving and best-capitalized companies in the emerging field of brain–computer interfaces. Since our founding in 2021, we have raised more than $180 million, advanced our technology through validation, and initiated human trials with leading hospitals across the country.

Our Values:
We build for human impact, measuring progress by the lives our work can change.
We do no harm, holding ourselves to the highest standards of safety, integrity, and responsibility.

We innovate with urgency, because the stakes are high and our users can’t wait.

We bring sharp minds, open ears, pairing expertise with curiosity, humility, and respect.

And we lead the way, taking ownership of our work and helping to shape the future of our field.

We are seeking a Director, Business Development to build and lead the partnership function that will bring Precision’s work to the wider life sciences ecosystem.

In this role you will shape how one of the most closely watched companies in neurotechnology partners with the organizations to treat neurological disease. In this role you will build Precision’s partnership function from the ground up.

This position will be based in the United States. Precision has offices in New York, California, and Texas. We are unable to consider remote workers or individuals who are not currently based in the US and not legally authorized to work in the US.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and own a pipeline of strategic partnerships with organizations across the life sciences and healthcare landscape end to end.

  • Structure and negotiate complex collaboration, researching, and licensing agreements, including the commercial terms, governance model, and rights allocation.

  • Work closely with cross functional teams to design partnership models that are scientifically sound, operationally executable, and contractually clean.

  • Translate technically sophisticated work into a clear commercial narrative for senior external audiences, and carry the narrative into conferences, partners meetings, and execution conversations.

  • Advise company leadership on partnership strategy, deal architecture, and where to concentrate effort.

  • Define how a partnership function operates at a company at our stage- the process, the pipeline discipline and the internal interfaces.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 8+ years in business development, alliance management, corporate development, or external innovation, with substantial time in biopharma or in an organization partnering with biopharma research and development.

  • A demonstrated track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder agreements where the subject of the deal was a technology, platform, or scientific collaboration rather than a finished commercial product.

  • Deep understanding of  how research and development organizations in life sciences evaluate, govern, and adopt new approaches — including who sponsors decisions, who blocks them, and how long the process takes.

  • Deal structuring: term sheets, milestone structures, field-of-use considerations, and rights allocations.

  • The ability to engage credibly with in scientific and clinical experts, hold your own in a technical conversation, and know when to bring in a specialist.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and genuine enthusiasm for an early-stage environment.

  • Background in neuroscience, neurology, or a related therapeutic area is a strong plus.

  • Experience building partnership or business development function.
