Overview
The Commercial & New Payment Flows (CNPF) organization is responsible for driving Mastercard's growth beyond traditional consumer card payments by enabling business-to-business (B2B), commercial, cross-border, and embedded payment solutions. CNPF helps corporations, financial institutions, and ecosystem partners digitize payment flows, improve efficiency, and unlock new revenue opportunities across increasingly complex payment ecosystems.
Within CNPF, the B2B Travel team focuses on accelerating Mastercard's leadership position in travel payments by partnering with issuers, travel intermediaries, travel technology providers, and merchants to drive the adoption and growth of innovative B2B travel payment solutions.
We are seeking a Director, B2B Travel Expert Sales (Issuers) to lead strategic growth initiatives with Mastercard's B2B Travel issuer partners globally. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role for a commercially driven leader who combines deep payments expertise with strong relationship management, consultative selling, and business development capabilities.

We are seeking a Director, B2B Travel Expert Sales (Issuers) to manage and grow a portfolio of strategic global issuer relationships while driving new business opportunities across Mastercard's B2B Travel ecosystem.
This highly visible, customer-facing role combines account ownership, business development, commercial execution, and industry expertise to deepen existing partnerships, accelerate solution adoption, and deliver sustainable revenue growth.
Working closely with regional teams and cross-functional stakeholders, the successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to issuer partners, leveraging deep knowledge of travel payments and commercial card solutions to identify growth opportunities, shape customer strategies, and reinforce Mastercard's leadership position in B2B travel payments globally.
Role
The Director, B2B Travel Expert Sales (Issuers) will be responsible for growing Mastercard's B2B Travel business by managing and developing strategic relationships with issuer partners, identifying and commercializing new opportunities, and driving adoption of Mastercard's travel payment solutions across global markets.
Working closely with regional teams, Product, Customer Solutions, Finance, Legal, and other internal stakeholders, the successful candidate will:
• Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic global issuer relationships within Mastercard's B2B Travel business.• Develop and execute account growth strategies to drive payment volume, revenue, and solution adoption.• Identify, originate, and commercialize new business opportunities across existing and prospective issuer partners.• Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on B2B travel payments, virtual card solutions, and emerging industry trends.• Lead customer engagements, executive business reviews, commercial negotiations, and partnership discussions.• Collaborate with Product, Customer Solutions, Finance, Legal, and regional teams to deliver customer-centric solutions and growth initiatives.• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders and key internal partners.• Provide market insights and customer feedback to support product development, commercialization, and go-to-market strategies.• Support regional teams through thought leadership, sales enablement, and best-practice sharing.• Represent Mastercard externally and internally as a recognized expert in B2B travel payments and commercial growth opportunities.
All About You• Significant experience in business development, account management, commercial payments, or B2B travel payments.• Strong understanding of the B2B travel payments ecosystem, including issuers, travel management companies, online travel agencies, travel technology providers, and payment partners.• Proven track record of developing strategic customer relationships and delivering commercial growth in complex, matrixed organizations.• Strong business development and consultative selling skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and bring them from concept through execution.• Experience leading negotiations, structuring commercial agreements, and coordinating cross-functional stakeholder engagement.• Excellent communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills.• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.• Ability to work effectively across geographies, cultures, and highly collaborative environments.• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

- Strong understanding of the B2B travel payments ecosystem (issuers, TMCs, OTAs, travel tech, payment partners)
- Proven track record developing strategic customer relationships and delivering commercial growth
- Strong business development and consultative selling skills
- Experience leading negotiations, structuring commercial agreements, and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders
- Excellent communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
