The NCAA Compliance Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring programs that ensure institutional compliance with all rules and regulations established by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, athletic conferences, and university policies. This position provides guidance to coaches, student-athletes, staff, and boosters regarding NCAA legislation and helps maintain the integrity of the athletics program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.

  • Interpret NCAA legislation and provide compliance guidance to coaches, administrators, student-athletes, and staff.

  • Review and approve recruiting activities, official visits, unofficial visits, and related documentation.

  • Monitor eligibility requirements for student-athletes, including academic progress and amateurism standards.

  • Conduct rules education programs for coaches, staff, student-athletes, and boosters.

  • Prepare and submit NCAA and conference reports, waivers, and required documentation.

  • Investigate potential NCAA violations and assist in self-reporting processes when necessary.

  • Maintain accurate compliance records and databases.

  • Collaborate with admissions, financial aid, registrar, and academic support offices to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments.

  • Develop policies and procedures that support a culture of compliance within the athletics department.

  • Stay current on changes to NCAA legislation and conference policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in NCAA compliance, collegiate athletics administration, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, and compliance practices.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

  • Proficiency with compliance software (JumpForward).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, Juris Doctor (JD), or related advanced degree.

  • Experience working in Division I athletics.
