Holy Innocents' Episcopal School is seeking a Director of Alumni Engagement. The Director of Alumni Engagement is a visionary leader responsible for the strategic oversight of all alumni-related initiatives at Holy Innocents'. This role focuses on deepening the breadth and depth of alumni engagement through data-driven decision-making, high-impact programming, and cross-campus collaboration. The Director serves as a primary strategist for the Alumni Advisory Board, ensuring all activities align with the school's mission.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Governance:

  • Develop and execute short- and long-term strategic plans for alumni engagement, and leadership of the Alumni Advisory Board.
  • Oversee board governance, in alignment with bylaws, and volunteer structure of committees, effective working groups, and class representatives.

Engagement, Programming, and Communications:

  • Strategic Programming: Lead the vision for high-impact signature events, such as Homecoming, and reunions, aimed at achieving significant year-over-year participation growth and delivering outstanding alumni experiences.
  • Student & Young Alumni Initiatives: Design and implement programming for the Senior Class to facilitate a seamless transition into the alumni body and develop distinct engagement strategies for Young Alumni (0–10 years post-graduation) centered on professional networking and mentorship.
  • Regional & Affinity Outreach: Determine strategy and direct out-of-town gatherings and regional events and identify opportunities to launch networks to support a diverse, 2,000+ member alumni body.
  • Special Initiatives & Milestone Leadership: Institutional Milestone Management: Lead the strategic alumni engagement efforts for major institutional milestones including Wall of Fame Induction and Distinguished Alumni Award.
  • Communications: Maintain a communication strategy in collaboration with the communications office to ensure that alumni are informed and connected. This includes management of the alumni e-newsletter, Alumni related pages of the TorchBearer Magazine, Alumni Social Media pages (LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram) and the alumni website.
  • Develop engagement opportunities and communications strategies that support alumni giving and long-term donor pipeline development.

  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Annual Giving to identify, recruit and train alumni

Data Strategy & Measurement

  • Create a Measurement Framework: Establish and lead the overall vision for defining and measuring "meaningful engagement" across the alumni body, shifting the department toward a data-informed decision-making model.
  • Dashboard Design & Performance Monitoring: Design and maintain a comprehensive Alumni Engagement Dashboard to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as event attendance, social media growth, and directory updates, providing regular reports to School Leadership.
  • Scalability & Growth Analytics: Utilize data trends to identify untapped opportunities for growth, ensuring that engagement initiatives are scalable and that resources are allocated to the highest-impact activities.
  • Data Integrity Oversight: Collaborate with Advancement Services to improve the breadth and accuracy of alumni data

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in alumni relations, engagement, volunteer management, or development
  • Broad experience working with a wide spectrum of volunteers and donors in an outward-facing capacity
  • Represent the School and the Advancement Office with the highest level of professionalism
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrates strong management and leadership skills
  • Creative thinking and eager to learn and seek new ways to engage with the School community and beyond
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks appropriately
  • Ability to interact well with a variety of people, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, be self-motivated, and work well in a team environment
  • Results-oriented commitment to departmental goals, with a high degree of initiative
  • Advanced interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Computer fluency (Raisers Edge, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, at a minimum, and strong familiarity with web content management)
  • Ability to perform in a dynamic work environment, meeting multiple deadlines and successfully managing multiple projects at a time
  • Collaborative work style and comfort working with the advancement team, board members, parents, alumni, faculty and staff, and students

Skills Required
