Title and Summary
Director, Agribusiness Products (North & South LAC)
Agribusiness is a strategic vertical for Mastercard across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). It encompasses the entire commercial ecosystem surrounding the agricultural value chain, which covers everything from farm inputs and cattle ranching to meat processing, dairy production, distribution, and retail. Agribusiness represents a significant opportunity to expand B2B payment flows and accelerate the digitization of one of the region's most relevant economic sectors
This role will be responsible for designing and leading Mastercard's Agribusiness strategy across North and South LAC, with a strong focus on Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, and selected Central American markets.
The role requires deep engagement with key players across the agribusiness value chain and the ability to develop solutions that address the unique needs of the segment, leveraging payments, data, and technology capabilities.
In this role, the selected candidate will:• Develop a deep understanding of agribusiness value chains and economics to drive stakeholder value across markets• Lead the development and execution of Mastercard's Agribusiness strategy across North and South LAC• Design and deliver competitive products for the agribusiness ecosystem, addressing the needs of buyers, suppliers, financial institutions, and ecosystem enablers through digital payments, platforms, and data-driven solutions• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including cooperatives, producers, suppliers, buyers, processors/enablers, and financial institutions• Identify and remove barriers to acceptance, working with acquirers and partners to enable card usage and capture relevant B2B flows• Develop partnerships and strategic alliances to scale Mastercard's presence and adoption in the agribusiness segment• Stay abreast of regional market trends, regulatory dynamics, and technological innovations relevant to agribusiness and commercial payments• Work closely with internal teams such as Products, Sales, Pricing, Finance, and Customer Delivery across LAC to ensure alignment and execution
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:• Have extensive experience (8+ years) in agribusiness or commercial payments, financial services and related industries with direct exposure to agricultural value chains and supply chain dynamics• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the agribusiness ecosystem, including its commercial, operational, financial, and seasonal characteristics• Bring proven experience across agribusiness value chains, complemented by exposure to relevant technology solutions and a strong understanding of financing mechanisms (e.g., working capital and trade finance) for the segment• Demonstrated ability to design and execute go-to-market strategies for complex or specialized segments• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage clients and partners across the value chain and across multiple markets• Be strategic, analytical, and results-driven, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable initiatives• Demonstrate strong organizational and execution capabilities, including capability to operate in a highly matrix environment, and able to manage multiple initiatives across geographies• Communicate effectively in English and Spanish • Hold a bachelor's degree, preferred in business, economics, engineering, agronomy, or related fields; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus• Availability to be in the office 3 times per week.

Skills Required
- 8+ years experience in agribusiness, commercial payments, financial services, or related industries with exposure to agricultural value chains
- Deep knowledge of agribusiness ecosystem commercial, operational, financial, and seasonal characteristics
- Proven experience across agribusiness value chains and exposure to relevant technology solutions
- Strong understanding of financing mechanisms for the segment (e.g., working capital, trade finance)
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute go-to-market strategies for complex or specialized segments
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple markets and partners
- Strategic, analytical, and results-driven with ability to translate market insights into initiatives
- Strong organizational and execution capabilities; ability to operate in a matrix environment and manage multiple geographic initiatives
- Fluent communication in English and Spanish
- Bachelor's degree (business, economics, engineering, agronomy, or related fields)
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent)
- Availability to be in the office three times per week
