Director, Account Management
Overview
The Account Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a group of Mastercard customers in Malaysia. The role is the primary point of contact for Mastercard interaction at all levels of the customer organization. The objective of the role is to achieve measurable stretched account sales targets and to bring knowledge leadership to the customer. This is a business development role that is suitable to a 'hunter gatherer' type individual who gets job satisfaction from over-achieving commercial targets and excels at consultative selling.
The Role• Individual in position will be accountable for strategic sales management, relationship management, project planning, new product sales, program retention, and portfolio growth.• To drive the sales and implementation process to analyze and introduce new business opportunities to customers that will lead to increased volume and market share for Mastercard.• To develop relationships with customers at both senior / executive and middle management levels and structure value propositions to customers that will help grow Mastercard's business with the customer.• Individual will need to lead and coordinate Mastercard's involvement in all marketing-related activities with customers and provide consultative support relative to specific Mastercard products/services, trends and the card industry.• Comfortable with building numerically accurate and logically sound business cases to support the internal and external sales process.• To utilize industry and customer knowledge to seek out new business opportunities in the market across all product lines and segments including consumer credit, debit, prepaid, commercial and small business as well as acquiring.
All about You• Extensive experience in financial services, relationship management, product management and / or marketing of consumer financial services products achieved in a financial institution, processor and/or payments company, or network. Credit and/or debit cards experience preferred.• Bachelors or Masters (MBA) degree in business or an equivalent field will be a plus.• Relevant B2B Enterprise sales, partnership and account management experience in adjoining industries (including management consulting, telecommunication and information technology) will be considered.• Commercially aggressive and numerically astute and able to drive a strong sales culture with a strong understanding of strategy and execution.• Solid understanding of all revenue and cost lines of a credit/debit issuing business.• Self-motivated, commercially pragmatic, business developer with strong relationship management and influencing skills.• Solid payments banking and payments related experience in Malaysia, that has been customer facing and/or institutional sales and business development is a prerequisite.• Strategic vision and the ability to think quickly with an eye to creating differential advantage for the customer whilst balancing the interests of MasterCard will be essential to success in this role.• Good understanding of brand marketing and direct marketing (including online).• Excellent communication and strong problem-solving skills • Oral and written proficiency in English is a must, and ideally also well versed in an additional language such as Bahasa Melayu, Cantonese or Mandarin would be an advantage.

Skills Required
- Extensive experience in financial services, relationship management, product management, or marketing of consumer financial services products
- Payments, credit and/or debit card experience (customer facing, issuing or acquiring)
- Proven B2B enterprise sales, partnership and account management experience
- Solid understanding of revenue and cost lines of a credit/debit issuing business
- Commercially driven, numerically astute with strong sales culture and business development capability
- Strong relationship management, influencing, communication and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
- Experience in the Malaysia payments market (customer-facing or institutional sales)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (MBA is a plus)
- Familiarity with brand marketing and direct/online marketing
- Additional language skills such as Bahasa Melayu, Cantonese or Mandarin
- Completed/commitment to Mastercard security policies and mandatory security training
