Title and Summary
Director, Account Management, Financial Institutions (Malaysia)
Mastercard is seeking a commercially driven account management leader to manage and grow strategic financial institution relationships across Malaysia. This role is responsible for developing long-term partnerships with financial institutions, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting the delivery of Mastercard's products, services, and solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with customers to understand their business priorities, develop account strategies, and drive mutually beneficial outcomes. Combining relationship management, commercial leadership, and strategic planning, the role offers the opportunity to influence key customer partnerships, expand Mastercard's presence within customer portfolios, and contribute to the continued growth of the payments ecosystem in Malaysia.
Role
• Develop and execute account strategies to strengthen customer relationships and drive sustainable growth across assigned financial institution partners. • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with customer stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner and advisor. • Identify opportunities to expand Mastercard's products, services, and solutions within existing customer portfolios. • Lead business reviews, strategic planning discussions, and customer engagement activities. • Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Services, Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to deliver customer outcomes • Drive portfolio performance by monitoring business results, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting execution of commercial initiatives. • Prepare strategic presentations, business recommendations, and customer proposals for both internal and external stakeholders. • Support negotiations, business cases, and partnership initiatives designed to strengthen long-term customer engagement. • Monitor market, competitive, and industry developments to identify risks and opportunities impacting customer portfolios. • Contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented culture while supporting broader market objectives and priorities.
All About You
• Significant experience in account management, relationship management, business development, or commercial leadership roles. • Experience managing financial institution relationships, including issuers, acquirers, banks, or broader payments ecosystem customers. • Proven track record of growing customer portfolios, expanding partnerships, and delivering commercial outcomes. • Strong understanding of the payments, banking, cards, or financial services landscape. • Ability to build credibility and influence senior stakeholders across customer organisations. • Experience developing account plans, business cases, commercial proposals, and growth strategies. • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to navigate complex organisations and collaborate effectively across multiple internal and external stakeholders. • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate insights into action. • Self-motivated, results-oriented approach with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
